Hey guys,

What is the best platform for automating strategies.
I am having heck of a time already trying to figure out how to grab the previous VAH VAL for market profile doing basic back testing.

Used Sierra Charts for a long time, but spreadsheet for trading running to circular reference issues with vlookup. Looking to see if there are better ways

Cheers

Is Sierra the top platform for this? Any others you will recommend?
I want the platform that I start building on to be robust

I don't really know - I have used TOS, TT, and Multicharts and NONE of them have the capabilities for customization and automation that Sierra does from what I can see.

A steep learning curve for sure but worth it if you are stubborn and don't give up easily. If you want/need someone else to do shit for you then Sierra Charts is probably not going to be your things LOL

lol ya at the end of the day SC is a good platform used it for like 10 years now, just a pain to use with rithmic it's officially unsupported now that got me looking. And then probably 10-20 hours learning their ACSIL language and brush up on C++ on top of that. So want to get into this.

Yah, so spend an hour or two looking at what Fred has. So far I love his work and find it useful and like he says this is not a SYSTEM you bring that yourself and use his work to test optimize and make it work for you.

Check out a couple of his blog posts and youtubes - he is a hardcore Sierra gearhead and I guess you have to be if you want to get the full potential out of the platform. Worth the effort IMO!
