motors convert potential to kinetic energy (EV, ICE): EV: charging(potential), ICE: detonate (kinetic)
even the heart has stroke phases. currently vix is providing initiating charge to setup index thresholds

there is no predetermined direction, just that potential energy will become kinetic once activated
thresholds do provide inflection points like shunts or valves in a stroke engine to direct flow

a delta neutral position can still buy lows and sell highs in equivalent amounts during potential phases
while a kinetic phase will cause a directional imbalance from reducing one side and adding to another

until vix finishes ratcheting, the potential energy is still being primed, while a larger neutral position builds

previous guidance was pessimistic, while ongoing guidance seems to be positive or an attempt to prop in an ongoing / modest environment
