You should already have some kind of edge in the market. Yvan does go over your playbook in the beginning and gives you feedback, but it helps a lot if you’re already at a point where you kinda know what you’re doing.
The whole program is built around 3 pillars:
1. Embracing uncertainty
2. Regulating emotions (that come up when facing uncertainty)
3. Accountability (you get assigned a coach for 3 months)
Put them together, that’s the recipe for success.
1. Embracing Uncertainty
This is probably the core of the whole thing. The course really drills into the idea that markets are always uncertain — no matter if you use fundamentals, price action, or order flow, nothing can take that uncertainty away. The idea is you just keep putting on trades with your edge, again and again, until you get used to uncertainty and stop fighting it. Over time, your brain just kinda accepts it. You stop trying to predict, and instead learn to live with it.
2. Controlling Emotions
When you’re facing that uncertainty, emotions kick in. Fear, FOMO, wanting to be right, moving your stop loss, holding too long, all that stuff. The program spends a lot of time helping you recognize and manage those reactions, so you don’t let emotions drag you off your plan.
3. Accountability
This was actually the best part for me. They assign you an accountability coach who checks in every single day. You share your trades, your journal, even voice notes before/during/after trades. They keep you on track and motivated, and honestly, it feels like you’ve got someone to talk to and keep you in the right direction.
There’s also weekly Zoom calls on Saturdays with Yvan/accountability coaches. They just keep hammering on the same pillars until it sticks. Yvan also reads the reports your accountability coach sends him and gives personal feedback. And if you ever want to, you can just reach out to him directly — I sent him long emails and he actually replied with proper responses!!
Some other stuff they really emphasize: keeping your risk capped, aiming for asymmetric bets, staying consistent with exposure, cutting big losses, following bigger trends, and just playing the probability game over and over.
If you want a preview before committing, his book Trading Composure covers these pillars in depth too.
Only downside: the program isn’t cheap. But honestly, it’s rare to find someone who’s both a legit trader(manages a multi-million dollar fund, have gone thru the trenches of pain and struggling for years for himself) and willing to actually coach and write about this stuff.
Also, I'm happy to share you with my Playbook with Yvan's feedback if you like!
Based on your interest in Yvan's course and the focus on trading psychology, here's a perspective on managing uncertainty, particularly relevant to your markets (ES, SI, CL, YM, GC) and trading style:
Embracing Uncertainty: Yvan's course highlights that markets are inherently uncertain. This aligns with the core principle that no method, whether order flow, price action, or RSI, can eliminate it. The key is to accept this and consistently apply your edge.
Controlling Emotions: Managing emotions like fear and FOMO is crucial. Consider integrating risk management tools within your platform to automate decisions and reduce emotional impact.
Accountability: The daily check-ins with an accountability coach can be invaluable.
I'm not sure about specific price predictions or market timing.
