I use Ninjatrader 8 and it's brokerage.
Something very weird happened today on my screens.
Today from 9:32 to 9:51 EST nearly no volume on ES 03-26 and price around 7019.50 and at 9:52 appears 40 points lower at 6980.
I could see ask and bid changing just a little bit, but 1m drew nearly same range bars all that 20 minutes. NQ, RTY, YW, CL and GC showed very similar behavior, in fact all charts opened in my workspace at that time.
Of course NT support just answered me to "try testing my platform in safe mode"...
Anyone experienced this? What happened?
Thanks
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I have an NT brokerage account and use Starlink internet.
I can report that Tradovate had an interruption of service yesterday that effected some prop accounts.
It may have caused some NT servers to also have the issue if they were connected to those servers.

I am uploading here more picture and video proofs of the bad and weird experience I had today with NT 8.1.5,2
I will keep a backup of this just in case NT support 'wakes up' and really want to investigate the issue. (out of automated stupid answers)
I know that after pc restart and upon "reload historical data" tomorrow that has to be done every day after data feed connection, it will come up with normal data..

I tried loading up a new CL 5mins chart and it shows correctly. Also a 1min.
ES 1 min loaded afterwards shows still incorrectly.
I have a 0.8Mb video of the CL 5mins chart that shows how NT is inconsistent showing the time for each 5mins bar, as it ignores 9:40...
(that is too big to be uploaded here)
CL 5min loaded afterwards shows correctly
CL 1min loaded afterwards shows correctly
ES 1min loaded afterwards shows still INcorrectly
CL 5mins comparison to clarify missing data error while trading
Here is my ES one min chart. I use Central Time
I'm not sure what the issue is on your side but maybe try a different internet connection or download replay data and see if it is the same.
If you have a second PC with NT installed, try that to see if it is different.
In the past I had issues with one NT PC and the other one was fine.
After re-installing the problem was solved. It was a corrupt database or NT files.
I never discovered the cause but now it has been resolved with a new installation.

The fact that every instrument across CME, NYMEX, and COMEX froze simultaneously is the key diagnostic here. A CME outage would hit specific product groups, not everything at once. This was almost certainly a connection-level drop between your machine and the data provider (Rithmic or CQG, depending on your NT Brokerage account type).
What you described -- bid/ask ticking slightly, near-zero volume, stale price bars -- is the signature of a partial stale connection. NT thought it was still connected but was receiving little to no market data. When it finally reconnected at 9:52, it pulled historical data to fill the gap, compressing 20 minutes of real market movement into what looked like an instant 40-point drop.
Safe mode is more for diagnosing indicator or workspace conflicts -- it won't surface connection-level issues. What you actually want to check:
NT log files: Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > log and trace folders. Look for connection drop/reconnect events between 9:30-9:55.
Windows Event Viewer: Check System logs for network adapter disconnection events during that window.
Network adapter power management: Windows likes to put NICs to sleep. Disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in Device Manager.
Your data provider: Contact Rithmic/CQG directly and ask if they logged a session interruption on your account.
One thing worth considering going forward -- running a secondary data feed like @DTN IQFeed alongside your primary gives you an instant cross-reference when something looks off. If IQFeed is showing normal activity while your primary feed is frozen, you immediately know it's connection-side rather than exchange-side.
