Thanks.. I got it, but only the cloud plots. All the lines that go with the indicator show up in the settings, but none are visible on my screen.. Am I missing something obvious here? They all show up in settings and are different from the colors of my black background on my charts.. I have no idea.

If the lines are not showing try making sure that the "Display Cloud Only" setting is unticked.

@ronw828,

Ha, no worries -- that setting trips up a lot of people! Glad you're up and running.

Now that you have the full ichimoku cloud for NinjaTrader 8 displaying properly, here's a quick overview of what you're looking at:
  • Tenkan-sen (9-period) -- The fast "conversion line"
  • Kijun-sen (26-period) -- The slow "base line" -- useful for entries and stop placement
  • Senkou Span A & B -- These form the cloud itself, acting as changing support/resistance
  • Chikou Span -- The lagging line plotted 26 periods back

When trading ES, many traders use the cloud as a quick visual context filter -- price above the cloud is generally bullish, below is bearish. The thickness of the cloud gives you a rough sense of how strong that zone might be.

If you want to dig deeper into ichimoku NinjaTrader 8 setups, there's a solid thread here on NexusFi covering ES mini configurations with colorized clouds for uptrends/downtrends -- worth checking out once you're comfortable with the basics.
