I've been learning to trade for ~18 months now. A friend introduced me and he was a mt4 forex kinda guy so did forex mostly with tradingview. Did a couple of prop firm challenges, passed a few and blew them. Then I found my way to futures with Apex Investing and now prop firm. I had looked at Ninja trader but it was way over my head but following the videos for the free BootCamp re-ignited my interest and now I'm doing so much better. Accepting that three net wins is the way to go for consistent profitability and sanity.
I have another business that is slowing dwindling thanks to covid and other things so I'm trying to find new income to defray that loss and eventually replace it so I can sell that business.
I am married for over 30 years and have 4 teens that I homeschool.
I'm happy to be here and look forward to becoming a solid futures trader!
I started in the trading world getting interested in cryptocurrencies during the pandemic. I was lucky enough to experience the Bull run and the good fortune to retire relatively early. I then became interested in volumetric analysis and regulated markets and this has led me to Futures trading. I am still outlining my strategy and I know that I have a more than hard road to profitability. I can say that for the moment I am enjoying the journey and I continue to be motivated to keep moving forward. Very pleased to be part of this community.
@FloridaLaureen Happened to see your post about your youngsters and homeschooling, fwiw coincidentally I happened to watch two Tastylive video yday about youngsters who are trading, should yours take an interest.
Good luck to them with your homeschooling, I was fortunate to have a quality education but even ~40 years ago I thought so many who'd have been better off not going to university. (Edit, did not word that well, ie, it's not about university (or any level of school) yea/nay per se but where/how will one become most self-directed in learning.)
Hello Mike and fellow traders. I started this journey about a year ago due a huge loss from a crypto scam. Instead of giving up I wanted to learn the dog that bit me. This eventually led me to futures and NinjaTrader. I'm still sim trading and trying to find a strategy. Currently trading MES. Looking forward to this space.
Hallo Trader, Hallo Mike.
