Saw you make this post. Spent the last 45 minutes trying, can't find the damn input for this trigger. I think it's in the YUI script somewhere.
Another reason to continue the full rewrite that I have going for the chatbox. The current one is simply far too complicated due to how old it is, and how cutting edge it was back then using a lot of third party tools. Now that stuff is simplified in-browser, a decade later.
So long story short, sorry, I can't find it to change it! If anyone is a CSS/HTML guru and can manage to find the exact line and instance setting the input size, let me know.
Hi @Big Mike,
One thing that I miss in FIO is the possibility to access my Journal rapidly.... what about adding a button close to every user name (right up corner) with a shortcut to access his own journal?
Another useful tool would be to add a note to bookmarks, for instance if a post is very interesting or it gave me some hindsight I would like to bookmark it and ad a note to it, in order to find it fast later on.
Also in the app version of FIO there is no possibility to bookrmark posts, which would be very useful, when we read something interesting away from the PC.
True, and I'm sorry, but that won't be changing in the app. The goal, instead, is to remove the app entirely and just use a regular web browser, once we get the responsive web design. It's going to be a while, sorry.
Hi Mike
no this is not exactly what I meant, yes I know that I can access my journal by clicking to the journal button on one of my posts, but when I am on the homepage of FIO I have no quick way to access my journal. So I must search for a post of mine somewhere and then click on it... it's ok but it might be useful to have a button close to the name (see pic below).
Concerning bookmarks, I was suggesting sort of a way to keep them organized. I put below a picture of an plug in that I have been using for years ( I think it's old and free), I used it in Chrome to keep bookmars organized, I was thinking of a feature like this within FIO.
Don't worry if these are not doable improvements, I am not sure of how difficult or time consuming they are. I just wanted to share ideas.
I can work to add the quick jump to your journal, that is not hard and I'll try to do it today.
Regarding the bookmark comments, that is a bit of work. I see two possible user flows -- one would be to pop-up a at the moment that you click the icon to add a post to your bookmarks, asking if you want to add a comment. The second would be to have that listed on the bookmarks landing page, next to each bookmark. It would need to be there anyway so someone could edit their comment.
Unfortunately, the bookmark item would require a bit of work. But let me know if I have it right, and then I can come back to it.
Hi Mike, sorry the delay I missed this post.
Yes you got it right, I think that having a pop up window to add a comment to the bookmark would be great. Sometimes I read a post and there is something that strikes me and it's useful to add a comment when I create the bookmark (two minutes later I will probably forget why I liked it).
Once the bookmark is added on the "bookmarks list" then it would be useful if we can edit the comment, make it shorter etc... in this way our bookmark session might become sort of a knowledge center.
Since I use FIO extensively, and with the growth of the community the website has really become a knowledge center so having a way to organize knowledge is definitely useful. The bookmark session could be that place.
