with all the customizability of websites for admins I find it hard to imagine that it is not possible to add a sticky post to the top of every page of a thread that way the rules can be posted and no matter what page someone is viewing of this thread they will see the sticky rules post
I answered the survey with saying I had five monitors but I only really use four.
The upper left is for email and stock scanners. The upper right is for Zoom meetings only so it actually gets used mostly as a bulletin board. Despite what is showing, the bottom left is for testing scripts and following the indexes intraday. The center is where all the actual trading takes place, and the bottom right is for quickly seeing the trading activity and news feeds for my watch lists and setting alerts.
So really, I use the bottom center and right about 90% of the time.
I started this journey with a Dell Optiplex 780 (CPU speed of 2469), 16g of Ram and a 34in wide screen LG monitor.
Even though that PC functioned for a few years, once I started trading the MNQ, it could not handle the fast data.
I searched high and low for a computer company that did not gouge its customers. I could have built one by ordering parts. But then I happened upon Magic Micro Computers. For a few months with the help of their great menu, I "built" many different PC packages. I would research many different combinations, CPU's etc. etc. I used https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php to help me decide on the all important CPU speed.
I finally decided on a Ryzen 5-3600X (speed=18,324) due to the speed and affordability. I also wanted more RAM. 32gig fit the bill. Water cooled. Below is a copy of the build. I am very very happy with it's performance.
The setup in the picture is:
1. Samsung 43in 4K TV for the MNQ chart (3min.) and Bookmap. I can toggle back and forth between the old PC (emails and browsing) and the standalone Magic Micro PC for trading only.
2. LG UltraGear 32" Class UltraGear FHD Gaming Monitor 5ms/165 refresh rate. Use for DOM and Chart trader on the MES (2min.) and trade performance.
3. Above is my original LG 34. 10min. and 120min. MNQ and MES charts.
This "battlestation" happened organically. I will eventually replace the TV with a 43 monitor.
All trades are short in nature. Mostly 1.5 minutes and sometimes 3-5 min.
Since this PC was a great buy, I thought someone would find this info. helpful:
