I'm very curious about day trading, I have been playing with NinjaTrader for one year in part time, have made a little program for auto trade, back test shows 20% performance, I never go live with it. I'm here to see if it's possible to have a system that can do 100% yearly, at the same time I want to know what the pro do to be successful, I'm very glade I found this forum as I felt very isolated doing the programing on my own.
Thanks Mike!
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Just want to take a minute to introduce myself. I'm Sidney and have traded stocks, ETFs and Forex but not as successfully as I would like. I'm studying Futures trading now and hoping to improve my skills and make a good living. Looking forward to meeting and learning from all of you, and of course giving back in any way that I can.
Trading futures and options involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. You may lose more than your initial investment. All posts are opinions and do not claim to be facts. Please conduct your own due diligence. Use only Risk capital when trading Futures.

Hi all,
I want to thank Mike for creating this community and providing an environment to share ideas, observations and get to know other traders. I have been trading for over 10 years. Initally, mostly stocks and ETFs and had this silly idea that trading futures would be a great way to make money and not have to select and manage individual stocks. I went to (and paid big $$$$$) to lots of people that assured those of us that paid up that their methodology was the way.............. Then I tried to apply their methods and lost large piles of money. I kept thinking that I had not found the right person to show me the way. I repeated this cycle a few more times until the pain became almost unbearable, so I stepped back and took some of the basic things I learned, became honest with myself about my demons and realized that money management and minimizing large losses was the key for me. I use very few indicators, but have developed a couple that are quite helpful for me. I have also been much more focused on price action and utilizing time and sales and the dom to assist in entries. I have begun to be profitable, and look forward to sharing my thoughts and questions with this group. I commend the desire to share and help other traders. I primarily trade CL and the 6E and use Ninja and Thinkorswim.
My degree is in Math and engineering, so I tend to think about what I am seeing in the market and look for patterns. I have not been writing much code, but plan to make it a priority as time permits. I like to test my ideas, and that has been the best way for me to evaluate something I am looking at. I had a trading friend who was quite good at code, but less skilled in money management, and he is not trading anymore. Well....anyway. We all have our stories to tell.
I am having surgery at the end of the week that will be away from this for a few weeks, but look forward to participating more when I can.
I have dabbled with automated trading and some MT4 Forex automated system with no success. Prefer automated solutions to take my goofy mind out of the equation. I have used InvestorRT, SierraCharts and MultiCharts in the past and am trying to make a move back to multicharts. Any info/help with automated strategies for MC is appreciated, thanks!
I have been at this forex trading since February 2006 and I have blown up a few accounts that i believe was my tuition for learning in this industry. Like many of you I have paid too much for some over priced training that promised a lot but delivered a little.
I have grown mentally and still working on my psychology because it is a work in progress thanks to some members posting that i have learned from on this forum. I also make a plan that I am sticking to including reward to risk, money management, managing the trade and trading a particular setup repeatedly. I look forward to learning from each other in this forum.
