I thought you were trading Forex EUR/USD. I put on this older indicator (dValueArea) on my eur/usd chart today and it shows volume profiles, I didn't expect volume profile to work on that instrument. I'll have to look at it more this weekend.
I use spot forex big bigger mutli-day swing trades, but 6e for normal trades.
As for the usefulness of volume data, nothing is perfect. I use VP as areas of interest, just like drawing trendlines and channels. I don't use it to tell me long or short.
My plan for this week is to sell rallies above 2600 - provided the fundamentals don't change the equation. There is too much bad news from the eurozone to take any rally too seriously IMHO.
Weekly EURUSD . Its hanging around that 1.2590 former support area . Just looks bearish to me but who knows whats next , NFP is coming on friday and a holiday shortened week should influence everything .
