This is a really sad development. We can't even say that there was a bad deployment of the latest NT8 version / web login / license transfer. There was Not even an attempt to do this properly. I have owned a lifetime license of NT for many years. NT has my contact information, yet I was never notified of such an event. Not even now, after all the complaints, have I received any official notification. To say that is unacceptable, it's an understatement.
There is no doubt (despite what tech support tells you) that NT has a lagging problem. But after I updated to the latest update, I've noticed the lagging problem is even worse. Even with a small number of indicators, lagging will catch up to you. And if you plan to use any indicators with tick replay, well, forget it... you will not be able to trade when there is small volatility. Awful.
I really try to keep complaints to a minimum. I rarely write negative reviews. But this time I must join the hundreds that are being affected. We have collectively given NT our hard-earned money when purchasing the expensive lifetime license, and NT's actions show they are not interested in the long-term customer.
And I will not get into the conversation of the fact that people that do not have their brokerage account with NT will not be able to fully benefit from new features like mobile or web charting. Seems like an attempt to "force" people to abandone their current brokers and move their funds to NT.... although I know that will be denied, what reason could it be? (and I will not accept the reason has something to do with "technology" not being compatible with blah, blah, blah).
Seems to me that Sierra will be seeing a flood of new customers in the near future.

Yes, that's what it's all about - from being a multibroker, multi-datafeed charting software Ninjatrader gets a "Ninjabrokerage only, we do not only want your cash for the license, we want you to force to trade with our brokerage, and we try to get rid of all brokers that are be better than we are" charting software.
I hate myself for have gotten used to the platform, for having bought expensive volume profile and orderflow indicators, have my chart settings optimized for my eyes in this greedy, ugly charting software-brokerage-mashup.
Maybe Sierra, maybe Multicharts, it will be a hard and expensive way to mitigate all that I was used to, but I do not want to depend on a company that kicks their clients in their faces, again and again.
I think members do not dislike Ninja Traders . They are just puzzled why a broker that should have loyalty to there clints let some dishonest trading vendors rape and pillage there customers . you do not do that . I will point out only about 10 % on their eco system are dishonest .
That's a very vague statement. Simple question, will the previous offline vesion continue to receive regular software updates (features, fixes) or not? I suspect it will not and you are being deliberatly vague with your answers. Please take this opportunity here and now to confirm and clarify to users either way. I believe you it you current lifetime subscribers who will have paid you over $1000 for their license.
I'm guessing data used is purely what instrument I'm using, if not please clarify. Can you also be more specific about what feature usage is collected? Does this include third party indicators? Also, if I create a horizontal zone around 4120-4130 in the ES, is this data collected by Ninjatrader under "Features" collection?
Hello,
I work (or try to work) with trial simulation mode for one week now. Never get to the moment I could work with data replay and historic data. It loads for ages, like most of the day, and during that time it makes my pc to hiccup, momentary freeze, here it is worth to mention that I have 128GB of error correcting RAM. Not even mice pointer works fluently, simply pc is unable to work with. Connection goes interrupted many times during the day. After data SEEM to be loaded the NT platform stops working. Reinstalled, still the same.
Working with MZpack order flow software. Nothing works properly, Not printed (forgotrn) candles yesterday for 2 hours.
And yes, I do delete Cache folder every time I start the NT.
I mean you are releasing professional software that should work. But it does not. There is no time to gather feedback from users and repair and make it work.
Update.
Today after 5 hours of loading historical data (on old NT8 it was max 1H), and for the first time loaded with no missing candles. After short time it stops working and never reassumed.
Hi, I'm completely new to trading and NinjaTrader8 and need some help.
I'm using a NT8 paperaccount, and are trying to set up a BOT for automatic "Two Legged Pull Back" Scalping.
I'm inside the Strategy Builder under "Conditions" where I'm going to set up a group of rules to execute a trade.
I'm looking for "TwoLeggedPullBack DELUX" under the Indicators menu, but can't find TwoLeggesPullBack anywhere.
Is it the case that this does not exist in Papiraccount, but only for Live Trades?
I think more than 10% on the ecosystem are either dishonest or not dependable. Then there are vendors who are not Ecosystem members but sell expensive tools for Ninjatrader. I had a bad experience of a vendor not responding to my request to change the machine id. Another vendor asked for exorbitant money to switch the machine id to a new computer I bought. I think tying a computer's machine id to 3rd party tools activation is very outdated. Sometimes even updating Bios changes the machine id of that computer. It is frustrating to get a response from a vendor or pay an unreasonably high price for switching machine id. Even the Ninjatrader support team washes their hands off when it comes to helping clients in such a situation. It is very disappointing when you don't receive support from either Ninjatrader or the vendor who sold you the indicators/strategies for thousands of dollars. Many other platform vendors have switched to using permanent and unique customer ids for the purpose of authorizing 3rd party indicators at the server level a long ago. Ninjatrader is a way behind. I like the Ninjatrader platform and it is not replaceable as far as I am concerned.
I have a problem with 8.1.1.1 that I haven't seen anyone else discuss: I have an Lifetime License but none of my Order Flow indicators work - VWAP, Volume Profile, etc. A message pops up saying I have to add those on the Client Dashboard but when I try to do that I get another popup saying I have to do something with Tradovate. Does anyone know the solution to this? I have a message in to Ninja Trader Support but it is taking them 24+ hours to respond to these inquiries. TIA for any help.
