This morning between 10:34 and 10:36 AM ET, the site was intermittently available due to a resource problem when sending today's newsletter (problem was the attachment size of the graphic in the newsletter was much larger than normal).
It also means that approximately one third of the email list did not get the email, because the job aborted due to out of resource error.
I've made some changes so that this hopefully won't happen again. I also significantly slowed down the delivery rate per second of future newsletters, so that it should have less impact on the email delivery of non-newsletter mail (such as password resets and forum activity emails) during the processing of the big queue. But this does in turn mean you may not receive the email until much later in the day. For this reason, I will try to alter the initial delivery time -- previously they began at 9AM ET, I will consider changing to 7AM ET.
We send around 50k emails per day, so it takes some adjustments sometimes.
Now, when you click the "Register now" button - you are automatically registered instantly for the webinar, without the need to fill out any form with GoToWebinar.
Please test this out and let us know your feedback.
I've implemented a feedback system into our outbound newsletters, it will look something like this:
It's a very simple one-click feedback, you like it or you don't -- so that we can improve future events. Once you submit feedback, you'll also be given the option to send us more info/more detail if you wish.
I would appreciate it if you can click these buttons for each event to give us feedback. This type of feedback is based on the interest of the event -- it is not necessarily reflective of the quality of the final webinar, for example. We will work to implement those types of feedback systems soon.
I'm seeing an issue with the site as of a little while ago - an endless "fast refresh loop". Pages are auto-reloading at least once per second.
Note --this problem only happens when logged out of FIO. I'm hitting links from "today's posts" when logged out.
When you click on the little arrow ">" for "go to last post of thread", in other words, a link with #post123456 in the URL -- is when you see the problem.
It's happening in both Safari (Mac) or Microsoft Edge (Window 10 PC). It does not exhibit this behavior in OS X chrome.
Yes, it is a known issue -- it would only happen when you aren't logged in.
It happens when a new post is not yet in the cache. Most of the time, someone trying to read a new post is logged in. We had to make a sacrifice with what could be done with our current system, we chose to optimize for who is generally not logged in -- which are spiders/bots -- and not real people, who are actually logged in.
