Nice to see market profile thread. David, why you dont use volume information in your analysis? I am not suggesting as complex as bid-ask related indicators but simple footprint charts along with market profile?
Well, I was using market delta on trial and discontinued that. I've never been profitable and could not justify keeping the software. I tried loading the GOMI stuff, but there must be some bad code on an older indicator somewhere because Ninja won't let me load it. Kind of frustrating actually. I also was struggling with reading the footprint. I do feel there are other ways besides a footprint chart and that could reading a volume histogram on a 5 minute with price actions etc., but I do think and order flow method may be the best way to enter. With that said, I have just gotten some of the order flow analytics stuff and will start posting some screen shots along with the setups. I hope I don't get bashed too much for pay $ for something. :-) I told myself I wouldn't do that anymore, but I'm hopeful it will be worth it. I do think ultimately it will come down to how I manage myself.
i am looking forward for order flow posts, not familiar with Ninja but m sure simple delta divergence indicators can be easily coded in c#. I am a market delta user but not big fan of foot prints.
I experienced the same problem when I first tried to load the GOMI package. How I resolved it? I changed one of the script lines (on several GOMI indicators) based on an indicator of the first generation GOMI package. Too bad I cannot recall what exactly did I change after going through a few GOMI indicators now .. sigh ..
You will need to fix the bad code in order to have them worked. I went through the "Modified Date" column of the GOMI indicators and believe I changed the following:
If you want to give it one more try, you can private message me with your email address and I can send the above indicators (or all the Gom indicators I've been using) to you.
Here are some MP charts for CL with S/R as well as something new I am looking at. I have some of what Orderflow Analytics offers, but from what I am told CL may be to thin of a market for it, but I'm hoping if when trading at predefined levels and or the VWAP area for continuation, it may be useful. I've posted some examples based on the profile, the 1000 volume chart with VWAP and the OFA charts. Enjoy.
P.S. I'm no orderflow expert by any means let alone MP or trading, so if you anyone thinks this is a bunch of caca, please say so.
David
The scalp calls for both long and short. If you get it at the top of a bar its a short and at the bottom of a bar its a long. My plan is not to take them whenever they appear, but rather at S/R. There is another module that can be obtained with the scalper called the COI or conditional order Interface. Before the scalper turns gold it is gray and you can mark the chart to take a trade if it turns gold. it will interface with Ninja and send the trade.
Thanks for posting the new OFA software screenshots. Did you get the bootcamp? Do you recommend it?
I believe these ladder signals must be taken in context, and that is at anticipated support & resistance levels. Could be price pivots, MP levels, value areas, or for me cycles.
Looks like you're on the right track. I think it can be used for CL but in my opinion it works better for higher liquidity markets like Euro or ES. So I'm curious how you make on with it.
I couldn't agree more with taking the signals in context. My plan is to use it in conjunction the MP levels.
Do you mean higher volume markets? CL is as volatile as it gets, right? :-)
I was able to get the software without the bootcamp, but was told they normally do no sell it without requiring the bootcamp. An additions $2500 was not going to happen if that is what I had to do.
I asked about bootcamp cause I wanted to get the software but I read they won't do it without bootcamp. I feel like I have a good handle on the volume ladder patterns (responsitive & intiative buying & selling) from l2st, the ofa webinars, and other sites. so I don't want to pay $2500 either. I imagine they'll have to lighten up on this if they want experienced traders to use their software.
So how much is it per month?? I'm interested in trying it for a month.
Yeah I meant higher liquidity or volume markets. ES is great. I think Euro is interesting cause it's a mix between liquidity of ES & volatility of CL. I mainly studied CL while in the l2st room and you have to be very very quick and get out quickly when wrong. You have to be willing to take several shots at it and then hold for a big winner. It's a different method than what I use on ES. It works for Kam of L2ST so I'm sure with a lot of practice one can do it.
