I've been trading for about 2 and a half years. Started trading in Forex and have now moved on to Futures. I'm looking forward to meeting traders and talking with them about and learning form them as well.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I've tried many trading styles of the years and have never
Had a problem with protecting my trading capital, the
Challenge is in making it grow.
I enjoy this forum and how progressive it is.
I want to thank all those who contribute time and energy
in making this world of trading we trade in a better place.
I'm new to BigMiketrading.com. Seems like a very good place to be...unlike a lot of other trading sites out there....
I have been trading for about 2 years with mixed results so I'm hoping to improve my trading by spending some time and interacting with other traders on BigMike.
Short Term Momentum (R:R typically 1:1)->off 15min Charts
Charts that are tracked are the ES & SPX (I have also traded Forex, techniques the same, but patterns are different)
I have recently downloaded the NT7 PriceAction Swing Indicator & am currently validating a system based on PRICE ACTION ONLY. This is completely different to Momentum & objective is to take advantage of the short term swings in the ES which I believe are countless on a day-to-day basis.
The ES is monitored in conjunction with the CASH Index.
Will keep you updated (on results) as validation continues
Why here: sub-standard biochem undergrad who became a commercial dancer then got pulled into trading by a lifelong entrepreneurial drive. I found this site yesterday googling for the best vps with NT - impressive site for it's useful info that's very hard to find, and for this topic, even better than NT's user forum - lol. I noticed the tracking of gratitudes and an emphasis on growth/productivity - impressively notable.
I trade: EUR/USD and stock etfs of commodities and indices - might look into futures later.
History/Methods: studied momentum position trading EUR/USD for 4 years with some simple TA indicators. Tried moving down time frames to daytrading using same but didn't have my solid psychology - was down significantly over entire career and recently only breaking even, until this month.
New traders: this month applying Gann and pivot points with logical bet sizes that can hold out against large counterswings, I've recently not only broken even for career but made major gains in 4 weeks. If I can do it, so can you. What's scary is the thought of an automated system to supplement. Whoa.
Looking fwd to learning and sharing. All the best to you all.
I've been trading seasonal futures spreads for five years (I have a full-time job as an engineer, but spreads don't require much attention during the day) with timeframes of weeks to months. One of my best trades ever was a five-figure loss about a month into trading. I was in a high probability spread position, it didn't behave like it was supposed to, I added more, the loss deepened, I added some more, it got worse, and eventually I got out with a substantial dent in my account and a much needed lesson in humility (the market knows more than I do!). That was just the first lesson in humility courtesy of trading. However, I try to take the lessons to heart, keep up my commitment to risk management, put the loss behind, and look to the other active positions. I typically have 10-20 futures spreads open, love to trade (not continually, just when it's time), and look forward to the time when my capital is sufficient for trading to be my main business, while taking care of my family.
I've also disastrously traded with option credit spreads over a couple year timeframe (they need more attention than I could give with a full-time job), and experimented with day trading (also needs too much attention). Futures spreads with their longer timeframe fit my personality to a T.
Hello,
i'm just arriving in this communauty. I'm french, and i have to develop my trading with programmation now. I'm a discretionary trader from 6 years.
Thanks for all the resources on this forum.
Just an older trader that came across this site this morning.
Looks like this will be a Forum with great information.
What caught my eye in this forum is Wyckoff Trading.
Wyckoff trading is what I use for the past 3-4 years.
I started with a few other methods over the past 20 years rgh.
Have A Great Day and Thank You Mike an all who have taken the time to post.
