I had not caught the April 24th posting, and the last I heard from Ray was it'd be out by end of April. I posted the May 4th date, to inform anyone else who was not aware and perhaps wanting to know an official date.
And since @NTEcosystem is run by NinjaTrader, I would not regard whoever staffs it as a "yokel." While I can't be as up to date as you, the @NinjaTrader feed seems to have nothing that is current on it, hence @NTEcosystem is another formal and specific date documented & confirmed.
Here is What i have received from nt support:

Hello,
Thank you for the question.
NinjaTrader 8 is created using Windows Presentation Foundation or WPF, this means that it will should have access to GPU rendering, I cant not confirm this will be true in the final release yet but it is a very good possibility.
"
Should....
True.....
Possibility....
If it is True, it means that gpu fréquency is as important as cpu fréquency...
Is it the end of cpu power?
The CPU is still doing most of the calculations unless you plan to open and close charts every few seconds. WPF is just a presentation layer. At best, we can have slick animations in the future.
And, it's not at all like CUDA programming where specific tasks are purposely sent to a powerful GPU.
