The reason you can't override the column labels is that in the PriceActionSwing code, the indicator label property is hardcoded. It's a bad way to code but nothing I can do about that.. If you want to override the column labels, just open the indicator code and comment out the indicator label property and recompile... Specifically, if you open PriceActionSwing.cs (latest version from the downloads area) and comment out line 279 as follows, you will be able to change the column labels:
//displayName = Name + "(" + Instrument.FullName + " (" + BarsPeriod.Value + " " + BarsPeriod.BarsPeriodType + "), " + SwingType + ", " + SwingSize + ", " + DtbStrength + ")";
Thx for the info!
But, here it looks like it's not working.
Any ideas?
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?

, thanks for all that effort -- I similarly went and loaded NT7 to try and help his original request.
This version basically gets us back to where I left him since it does not use -1, 0, 1 or other numerals to provide the information. And it does what I was suggesting - color if > 0.
And it does not allow for changing the Label header. So it is likely you did customize PAS. So either the altered PAS is required or we can give up on it.
I think we have put enough effort into this.
-1, 0, 1 --> may i ask what you tried to do?

Around thread #176 a possibility was offered to color the bars depending on trend. is this still possible and in case yes, how can this be done?
Alternative and preferred:
the color of the line is determined by up or down movement.
how can you color the line according to the prevailing trend?
thx

Hi Everyone.
Sorry if I'm asking dumb questions. I'm new to
NinjaTrader and this is the first time I have imported anything.
I tried to install The
Price Action Swing indicator I downloaded from this forum on NinjaTrader 8 and received a series of errors saying that existing indicator files on my PC were newer than the ones contained in the archive file I am importing. It asked if I wanted to replace the exisiting files and I said no to each one (there were several) because my copies were newer.
I then got another error saying:
"Import failed. The Ninjascript Archive File may contain duplicate method names that already exist on your PC, modify a method signature that other scripts were dependent on, or be missing a required file on either your PC or in the import archive."
Seems like it might have failed because I said no to replacing those files. Any idea why this is happening? Is it OK for me to replace the files with older ones?
I am using a brand new install of NinjaTrader 8.0.19.1.
I tried looking on the forum before making this post and couldn't find anything.
Thanks
I am having same exact error.......wondering if somebody has an answer. Thanks in advance.

PriceActionSwing is good but not the Holy Grail. A lot of people have adapted it to do different things but I can tell you that colouring the bars will not work because the swings can change and therefore the PriceActionSwing can go back and change the colour of past bars.

this has been addressed multiple times, the pas indicators do not repaint (or go back and change color) .
The only thing that is repainting is the PasOsc volume part

Hello All,
I have been using PAS and PAS pro for years on NT 7 and 8 and never had a problem. Recently I started using it
with NT8 and Ninza Renko bars. I was experiencing very strange problems, large chart render times when volatility was
high, charts hanging etc. It would be most evident when an order was entered, watching the chart lag indicator it would
immediately start to drag, after much time I traced it to the PAS indicator.
It seems to be working, in its usual excellent way on other chart type. Just wanted to give a heads up

Do you know where your Ninjatrader 8 directory is? It is usually in your user area in 'Documents' or 'My Documents'.
