you realize you can use MBT through NINJA? It has it's own MBT NINJA order window for every instrument except Options entry... you can close positions through the MBT NINJA interface. The window also has current balances position P/L and RT margin info...
Im just using navigator , albeit an older version . Its a plain vanilla platform for sure . Im manually entering everything but using threshold trigger orders for stops and targets . I hate giving up easily but am starting to think theres no way to have everything I like , all in one , in a platform .
Mike, your posted screenshot shows that you have a EurUsd Fx chart setup. Have you tried setting up Euro Currency (/6EM1) ? I did, and noticed that the price feed is complete off (about 10 to 12 ticks) the true market price on my IQFeed and another TT feed I have by the side (the IQFeed and TT are OK). Is MBT feed a delayed feed ? If Yes, then, is there a Real-Time feed for MBT SIM/demo ? Or, is the /6EM1 Symbol incorrect ?
I think you've found it already, but I keep my Quote board up for that reason, so that I can click on a bid/ask of a given instrument and reset the price.
Hi Mike. I too am trying to learn the nuances of this platform. As to your question about seeing the crosshair price, the best I have come up with so far is to turn on the cursor window. Just press the button on the toolbar next to cursor tracking. The price won't show up on the X-axis, but it will show you the price in the window. I hope this helps.
@Big Mike- they (MB) are why Im here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used Desktop Pro/Navigator
All I can say is they were my first broker, I like to build a relationship with someone, then do business for a long time. I can go into detail about their internal problems that will cost you money, customer support is great, platform is weak, data feeds are good some of the time, DEMO is down all the time, MB says it to show you how to trade with there system not to use to learn how to trade. Great business model isnt it, you pay them commissions and learn to trade the costly way. I was with them for a year and half till, then I tired out a few others and settled in with Ninja.
OHHHHHHHH and you ll like this one, I was needing to get out of a large ES trade on Sunday 6 pm est after the US got downgraded. There DATA couldnt keep up my screens were all black from 6:00 to 6:02 granted my position window was showing huge moves in my position But I had no charts or any other data, I exited the trade in the blind at 6:02ish(lost $2700 in this time period alone because my mind was trying to figure out why in the world I didnt have data. I paid them the amount loss yes I lost this whole account and then still sent funds to them!!!!!!!!!!!! Also Many other issues with those guys,,,,, I ran best move ever, hindsight I would be much wealthier and wiser If I never used them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know all those guys Johnny there head tech he will only says good things about me,Steve lead customer support can only say good things bout me.People are good, Platform HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and your always the first one to have a problem no one else is having same issues as you, Guess what when I left I have not had any of these technical issues with Tradestation,TOS,Or NINJA/And my current broker. Same setup on my end, Looks LIKE I know who had the problem>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>YES I dislike THEM worst business MISTAKE I EVER MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Switching time frames on your charts takes forever to load, they might have changed this, God I hope so, only had 55 tick data none higher because it was going cost too much to improve there system!!!!!!!!!!!!Also some time order entry glitches you enter limit order it goes in as market, also horrible fills at times once I entered in on a 20ish dollar stock was filled >80 cent later. I understand how all of this works NOT a mistake on my end. Like I said I switched and tried 3 other platforms and even to today I have never entered a order that get filled wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have to agree here. I opened an account a couple of months ago to play around with Forex. Seems like if the market is moving more then 2 ticks every second, you will get horrible fills. I routinely get 5-15 ticks slippage in fast markets. I think this must be by design. The order processing is horribly slow and buggy.
Interfacing to NinjaTrader, NT often loses track of their order status because I think they have bugs in returning order status properly to Ninjatrader. It will take 5 or 6 seconds sometimes from the time I move my stop order on my Ninjatrader chart, to the time the order is actually moved. For a scalper, that can be an eternity. Tey were filling micro lots at 500 units, and reporting the split fill to NT, and when NT responded with the associated stop/target for 500 units, they would send back an error saying the minimum units per order is 1000.
I opened an account there because of the very cheap fees, so I did not have to pay a lot to play around and investigate Forex trading in a live setting. If I were to seriously decide to trade Forex, I think I would have to find another broker.
