I am glad that you have registered for the webinar and hope that you can make it! If not, there may be a recording of it posted after (I’m hoping so)
To clarify, you mean that you have registered to beta test NinjaTrader on this site, and didn’t receive a reply? If so, I’m sorry about that! If you would like, please send me an email and I can check your email address.
As of now, NinjaTrader is integrated to work with FXCM accounts! And to answer your questions:
1. Yes, you can trade at and through rollover! FXCM pricing and execution is available from market open on Sunday, approximately 5:00pm to 5:15pm EST (New York time) through market close on Friday, approximately 4:55pm EST (New York time). Rollover, which occurs at 5:00pm EST (New York time), does not pause trading nor disconnect intentionally.
A. Additionally, FXCM offers VPS service for our clients, and depending on your deposits, it may be free! Click here to review more: US VPSUK VPSAU VPS (It will say its for MT4 accounts, however it applies to all FXCM account types, balance requirements still apply)
2. As of now, you would setup an FXCM Trading Station II account and fill out the appropriate LOD (Letter of Direction), click here to see: US open accountUK open accountAU open account (Make sure to select Trading Station II for account type). Once you have done that, fill out the appropriate LOD: US LODUK LODAU LOD
B. For UK and AU clients, make sure hedging is disabled before logging into NinjaTrader. Email: [email protected] with your name, email address and account number and request to have hedging disabled. You'll receive an email confirmation when this is complete.
I hope that helps, if anyone has questions, feel free to post here or email me directly at: [email protected]

As noted in both threads, the NinjaTrader and FXCM production teams are working on the historical data issue. I do not know when they will be resolved, but one of the threads noted an update in a few weeks.
Beyond that, I do apologize for the inconvenience that this is causing. I do not have a flawless solution for you, however here are some alternatives that may ease the pain:
FXCM offers a Historical Data Downloader at our app store (link below and here: FXCM Apps). The price of the GUI is $499, however it provides you access to everything: roughly 3-4 years of tick data on the major pairs, roughly 8-10 years of 1 minute data on the majors, and access to all CFD data as well! Additionally, the GUI allows you to download in multiple formats: MT4, CSV, Strategy Trader, NinjaTrader and custom (custom delimiter, date format and file type .txt or .csv).
The other option is to download it from the FXCM Trading Station II platform, which is FREE! The issue may be with the formatting, I'm not sure how NinjaTrader separates the data, it may be different from how the Trading Station II saves it. Anyway, here are the steps to get it:
I can get a 2 week trial with live data from many futures brokers. Is this possible with FXCM? My impression is you have to fund an account to get data and ninja.
With there being a larger spread than futures, what price is used to plot on the charts? If trades are back and forth at the bid and the ask (especially thinner markets), this could make for some tall bars I'm thinking. Maybe that's just the nature of the beast.
Once you get that, you download and install the platform, then just login with your new demo! FXCM demo accounts will only expire after 2 weeks of inactivity (no login); great news for us trading junkies!
The beauty of the FXCM Trading Station II platform is that it can display the Bid or Ask price (or both if you are on a tick chart)! The same is true on the Historical Data Downloader.
Here’s how: Once you login to the Trading Station II platform (demo or live account), open the Marketscope 2.0 charts:
From the Marketscope charts, you can select the bid or ask pricing to display simply by clicking on the B or A buttons:
Then you can export the data to excel (follow the steps in the above post) and see that it includes (whether you’ve selected it or not) the Bid and Ask OHLC data!
You can also switch to a tick chart and see both prices at once:
Exporting the tick data to excel (follow the steps in the above post) will also include Bid and Ask tick prices.
Even with the ability to select Bid and/or Ask price data to display, you will still see large bars from time to time. Typically they occur on shorter timeframe charts (1, 5, 15 minute), during news events or at market open on Sunday. Here’s an example of one:
The size of this one candle is 24.3 pips, that’s a significant move in 1 minute of trading, considering the ATR of EUR/USD is usually 100-120 points per day! Notice the yellow cursor indicator on the bottom part of the chart showing the time as: 3/13/2013 at 12:30 (I have the chart set to GMT time). If we look at a news calendar, we will notice a series of news events, the highest impact being: USD Advance Retail Sales (FEB).
I hope that answered your questions; anyone feel free to reply or email me directly at: [email protected]
Thanks!

@FXCM Brad, I've been aware of this issue for at least a few months now. Can you elaborate as to where the hold up is? My understanding is it is on the FXCM side, the historical data server is very slow. I will also bring this up in today's webinar so we can get a clear answer or at least more information on a timely resolution.
I should have asked my question differently: Can I get a ninja demo acct? or only your platform? In order to get ninja, I have to fund an acct?
The reason I ask is that I have some indicators that were programmed for ninja and would like to try them on fx.
thanks
You are right, Mike, the fix for downloading historical data in NinjaTrader has not been completed in a timely manner.
So, here’s what we feel to be the best solution. For anyone who has (or opens) an FXCM account and has (or makes) total net deposits of over $5,000 this calendar year, we will provide the Historical Data Downloader for free. This will end as soon as the issue with downloading data through NinjaTrader has been fixed.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: Send an email with the following details to: [email protected]
1. Account holders full name
2. Account number
3. Email address
Again, send the above information to [email protected] and we will confirm that there have been $5,000 in net deposits this calendar year. Once it’s confirmed, we will send you the Historical Data Downloader and Registration Key (required to login) for free.
Once you have the Historical Data Downloader installed, open it and you will see this:
You can use a demo or live account to login. Simply type in your Username and Password, select the Connection type (demo/real), type the Registration key (will be emailed to you) and click Login. Then it will connect, as shown here:
Make sure to set the ‘File Format’ as ‘Ninja’. The file will save to the ‘Output Directory’ in the appropriate NinjaTrader format.
You will notice that the currency pairs available from the ‘Currency’ list are the same as you see on the Trading Station platform. If you want to see more pairs in the Historical Data Downloader, they must be enabled from the Trading Station II. Click here to see how to enable pairs within the Trading Station II.
Irfsdad – you asked about logging into NinjaTrader. As long as you have access to the NinjaTrader platform (through the FXCM discount or you pay for it separately) you can use an FXCM Trading Station II demo account to connect.
I hope this helps answer the questions regarding data in NinjaTrader, and that our temporary solution will suffice for the time being. Please let me know if there are additional questions, I can be reached at: [email protected]
Thank you!
Brad

I currently own a single broker license. I understood from the webinar that I could add FXCM to my license if I purchased before FXCM was offered on Ninja.
