Your reply gave me a little chuckle. I probably sound like a hardcore pice action trader ( no worthless indicators on my charts are matey shiver me timbers are ) my trading journey is leading me to base my trading on supply & demand and multi-time frame analysis, but I need some tools to get me over some of the difficulties I have reading the market at this discovery stage I am presently in. so if someone can take a worthless indicator and be profitable with it you can bet I will want to hear all that person has to say on trading matters and soak it all in like a sea sponge. I read a post about six months ago on a little bit of your Sam Seiden following and implementation in your trading, I found it insightful. I think I hit the thank you on it. and when the day comes that I can contribute I most certainly will. a lot of people turn to trading some to get rich lured by the magical indicator and a whole host of other reasons. well, I guess if I am going to debate I want it to be about the artful technique of extracting money from these markets.
excuse my spelling and punctuation I don't have the use of my arms & hands I have popsicle sticks duct-taped to my fingers to type.
Best Regards.

The algo traders that I know use complex mathematical and statistical models with execution that allows them to slice orders in a time units most of us in retail cannot achieve. I never heard one of them mention an indicator let alone the word "indicator". It is models.
I guess anyone who has automated an order system could call himself an algorithmic trader, but this term is thrown around in the industry like everyone access to such methods of execution.

Hi Matt Z, if I'm looking for supply & demand areas to trade from could the order book give me more insight on liquidity I'm not sure about the order book and how it works. don't want to head into dead-end streets although the order book is probably a great thing to master.
Thanks.

I do not know how to reference supply and demand of the DOM alone without any reference to charts.
Supply area on a chart is an area where selling interest outnumbers buying interest and the price falls until the buying-selling balance is restored. Similarly, a demand zone is a price level where price rallies because there is much more buying interest than selling interest.
Thanks,
Matt Z

@mattz i was talking about standard indicators like those you can find in most platfprms, not about HFT. What do you think Kevin Davey was using in his recent webinar examples ? "3 Excellent Algo Trading Strategy Entries, and How To Automate Them w/Kevin Davey".
I have a lot of respect for Kevin Davey, and the experience that he uses in building automated strategies.
He does not downplay the risk and speaks honestly of its challenges. It is worthwhile exploring the methods that he exercises. Please Google "Kevin Davy Optimus Futures" and you will find an interview we had done with him.
We covered many good topics.
Thank you,
Matt Z
