@nakachalet, lets please keep this thread just for introductions. You can send private messages if there are specific things you want to know from someone. No need to post a reply every time someone writes a message, it gets way too cluttered in this thread for that.
Im a part time trader and full time in the rat race. I have a passion for trading and sharing ideas which can hoepfully get me out of the rat race 9 to 5 job and become a full time successful trader instead.
Im glad to join you guys and see what bigmiketrading is all about.
My name is Hezi and I have been playing with stocks for 10 years. Got some ups, got some downs as well.
About a year ago I have decided to stop playing around and take things more seriously. I know how to program, so I developed a Matlab program that scans 3000 stocks, backtests, and give me daily reports of interesting stocks.
The program is working, but it was too hard to maintain. At least alone.
I am currently using IB and started to look into ninjatrader programming to get more support and maybe faster implementation time.
Would love to connect with anyone to share trading strategies.
Like many I have dabbled in the markets before, not commodity or currency however.
I like the dynamism and fast open nature of the marketplace and instruments available now, compared to a few years ago.
This time I would like to be better prepared and educated, which includes learning and sharing experiences with fellow traders.
I am going to try to concentrate on one market at a time so i can better understand market dynamics driving the instruments I’m trading.
For the past few weeks i have been trading gold exclusively, talk about action!
My goal: become a more patient, disciplined trader.
I started my journey in trading last year about this time. Still struggling to find a trading strategy that will provide regular money. Love the ninja trader resources that are here, can't wait to start using some of them to help out in my trading success. Also looking forward to the chat room. Being alone is a bummer. Stumbled on this site while looking for a ninja trader indicator and am excited to see where this journey will lead to.
After weeks of lurking and learning a LOT here a brief intro.
I always had an interest in investing. Pre internet there was the
news paper and meeting your broker or banker. No HFT then.
1998 I began to get involved in online trading, caught the
crazy dot com bubble and got out way too early. A good
thing in hindsight.
Fear was stronger than greed, I was afraid that this "irrational
exuberance" was not sustainable. Got lucky... and learned to
respect fear if understood as a survival signal and not a hysterical
emotion.
Got lucky once more by buying gold a long time ago. Again
I sold way too early and have very little left. Funny though, even
on gold down days it feels good to have some... (I am NOT
a gold bug)
For the last 2 1/2 years I am experimenting with trading concepts
that fit my personality and life style. Stocks, forex futures options,
the choice is enormous, the "we make you rich fast" services
are endless.
I came to the conclusion that less is more, focus is good and
diversification is overrated.
2 to 4 trading instruments are more than sufficient. If I can
make relative consistent profits with 2 e mini contracts why
add other instruments and not increase the number of e mini
contracts.
Holy Grail? No, haven't found it. Never planned on finding it.
However BigMike and his fantastic board will continue enlighten
me on my quest to improve my trading every day. Learning
never stops and this board offers a plethora of smart minds.
Hey traders, Mike,
What a great idea. I've only been trading for about a year. Up a little on my accounts. Currently trade most of the commodities, (even canola!!!), but for short to medium term positions. I also day trade, mostly using support resistance, and market profile trades. I've tried the trend trades on a day time frame and haven't been very consistently successful. I would like to build my daytrading success, and look forward to some of you traders advice. I've spent many thousands for those courses and programs and indicators. I've learned that the best indicator (if you learn to trust it) is between your ears. And the best education is the market.
I am a complete novice when it comes to active trading. I have done some stock and option trading in the past but that was I ever did. I have read a lot about day trading and have visited the EOTPro trading room and attended a few webinars but my main interest is in price action.
It took me so long to introduce myself because that is my personality. I want to watch and see before jumping into anything so bear with me guys. Three days ago I introduced myself but I believe that went into the visitor section that is why it has not shown up here.
I was just surfing the web looking for a trading forum but I was quite impressed by this site because at first sight it looked professional and different from the few that I visited so that is why I kept coming. I hope I have found myself a home. Thanks folks.
