Like many traders, I have instinctively felt that I should be trading for a living for most of my life. After 40+ years in corporate America, I was bought out of a small company so I had some cash. I figured I could jump into trading and make a bundle. After losing a bundle and being scammed by several so called experts, signal providers etc., I started to educate myself.
It took me several years to even begin to understand how to recognize what style of trading I am suited to. I am now mostly an FX scalper and both enjoy it and make some reasonable returns with it as well. I stumbled across the Big Mike forum while searching for information on DeMark indicators.
Bottom line, ya gotta pay your dues in this game just like any other. After finding the Big Mike Forum, I decided to join and feel that there is a lot of valuable information and relationships to be had that can benefit me and possibly I can also contribute in some small ways.
TQ

Very happy to have found this community. Great resources and great members with a wealth of knowledge. I have not been trading long, was involved with execution at a german investment bank and hedge fund but prop is a different kettle of fish all together. Especially when its your own hard earned cash. I am here to learn from the experienced members, and help the community as much as I can. Not much to offer at the moment but ill try and change that as soon as I can.
I joined up a couple of weeks ago and have been in lurk / listen mode as I started to get to know the community here. So far I have been blown away by how helpful and supportive everyone here appears to be.
My two passions from a career perspective are trading and computing. I spent quite a number of years at Microsoft before leaving to go do my own Internet start-up. Fingers crossed, but it is looking like we may soon be acquired which has started me thinking about "what next" after working between 60-80 hours per week for 6 years! As the CTO, I will need to go with the deal for probably a year or two.
I do have another idea for another start-up, but 'She Who Must Be Obeyed', while supportive, does not want to see me go down that rabbit hole again. So that got me thinking about feeding that other passion and looking at working through the process of preparing to trade full-time once my commitment to the acquirer is completed.
So I don't have much experience to offer in the trading realm as it has been a long time since I traded. I expect I will be in absorption and business/trading planning mode for a while.
That said, I am always happy to answer non-trading related computing questions if people are stuck. I have selected NinjaTrader as my platform of choice for now because of its c# extension model, so hopefully I will be able to help out on that side once I am up to speed on that platform.
Trade mostly the ES... and a few other futures. Been trading on and off since the mid 90's...Now currently trade full time. Looking forward to meeting fellow traders here.

My avatar is "the way of the otter". This is because of my playful personality and my curious nature to look at the odd things that I'm drawn to.
I am seeking the answer to the "Holy Grail" and expect to find it... Really.... It is the "Odd Things" that really stand out to be the "Holy Returns"... Exceptions to the market happen more frequently than most people realize. So, when the square peg doesn't fit in the round hole... It spells opportunity..
I am currently trading using my own "Automated Bots" and have three successful "Bots" and am currently working on 1 with the goal of being a winner every time (100%) I place capital in play... and to keep my in-time (time in market long) to less than 1 minute.
I may have found the answer to that one... and it looks like 29k or better can be pulled each month using 10 contracts on emini....
So, some may say I'm crazy as a lune... but my tune is playing the "The way of the Otter"... So I laid out the challenge to myself on the board... Not to be made fun of.... but for others to see my direction and my desire to succeed...
I heard a lot about this forum. I mostly trade the ES,YM and FESX.
I hope enriching exchanges with members of the forum.
I'll just browse this forum, and get an idea of topics.
