OK. Thanks Fat Tails. Looking forward to the result. I have the same feeling about this that you and many others have, that we are dealing with the “proper aging of fine wine here” and was not intending necessarily to talk you into doing this now, but only to ask you if it is a possibility, and I (and my girlfriend) am happy that you imply that it is. Thanks for your response.
The new indicators should load a lot fast than the old ones and also use less resources in real-time. Under specific conditions the lag will be reduced as well.
There is also an added option to display the nodes, that is the first bars of the primary series after a bar of the secondary series has been completed. The nodes accomodate the indicator values calculated from the secondary bars. The distance between the nodes is interpolated.
The chart below shows an hourly EMA(20) and an hourly SMA(20) displayed on a 5-min chart.
I removed the old assembly before installing the new versions today and I no longer have the ones titled "New" so that seems to suggest the ones labeled with "New" are the older ones.
I'm thinking the NewVisual and Visual are versions of the same thing anyway.
I'm probably better to delete them all and download the latest.
To clarify, what was the name of the "old assembly" you removed ?
Many thx
PS:
(So the latest download replace the New which were updated by the old because the old version was actually entitled New...I think...."who's on first base?" )
You might should state this in huge bold letters on the download section. It's too bad NinjaTrader doesn't support some sort of readme or changelog system where it pops up a dialog box with info prior to importing.
I have added an instruction to remove the old files prior to installing the new ones. Anyhow, I do not want anyone to keep the old indicators, because the new ones are much faster and better.
Fat Tails thanks for the hard work. Trying to remove the old one and install the new one but running into some problems. Do I just use the Remove Ninja script in utiities to deleate the old one? And then to install then new one drag the cs file into the indicator folder and f5 to compile? when I downloaded it it didn't come through as a file that can be imported.
Thanks for the help.
(used to be proficient at adding new NJ scripts but haven't changed my setup in so long I think I forgot how)
hey PHX, just remove all the visualSMA/EMA ninjascript assemblies, then close NT and restart it.. then add in the new visualSMA/EMA indies and your good to go..
dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see
