I resigned from my last job to trade full time six years ago. I tried a few different methods and now settled in short-term trading of NG and ES. I have made a lot of mistakes like everybody else but after these years, I have learned to stick to my routines and stay away from fear and greed.
Mike's forum looks like a good place to learn and to help. I wish it can flourish into a helping community as we all know how difficult this journey is.
Hi All,
New member, lots of equities buy/hold and some swing trading experience. i am no interested in daytrading the ES. I have several startegies that have been successful, I am interested in learning how to program the strategies in Ninja to back test
Hello everyone...its great to be a part of this trading community! I just established an entity for my trading account, have been researching indicators, strategies and brokers and am about to go live in about two months!!!

Hi,
I've been trading for a few years now, started with stocks then forex and now forex and futures.
I'm trading mainly using automated systems but do some trades sometimes when I see some interesting opportunities.
Green overall but not enough to make a living yet, still have to work (working in the finance industry).
Hi all, have been trading stocks and options for years, just started trading futures, 3 months paper trading and 2 weeks real money. Making small but consistent profits trading the es. Found this site while looking at a review of Viper trading systems, joined to download an indictor for Ninja. Looking forward to more great tips and info.
Hi Mike and other members,
I recently "discovered" you in the NT forums and have been reading your blog. I have already learned a great deal from you. I have been working very hard on my mental framework as I realize it's importance. But I have found that "better" the indicators the easier it is to keep my mind right. I have been able to experiment a little with some of yours. I think they're going to be very helpful. I can't thank you enough for the great info. you provide.
Thanks to Sharky for telling me about this community and to big Mike for getting it started...
I see that many of you have put *a lot* of time and effort in here to help each other and that there is a lot of depth to the site. Thanks for all of that! Love the international community aspect.
I learned the very first thing about trading in July '08 will have been trading live (on and off) for a full year, come November '08 - started with Forex: went live with MetaTrader. Shut down that account in Dec., due to what I experienced (and heard) about Forex being so unregulated. I got the lifetime license with NinjaTrader and took many of their webinars, focused solely on the ES -- and went live with NT in January '09. Wish I had started with something perhaps more manageable, like the ZN, 6E, as Sharky has recently suggested to me.. but went through many of the stages mentioned elsewhere on futures.io (formerly BMT); though, the way I experienced it was:
1. Lose money - a lot of it. lol
2. Lose less money and occasionally (ok. very occasionally) breakeven that week (kept overtrading).
3. Focus on not losing money, rather than on making it: Breakeven or make a little money by the end of the week. This is where I am now, but only because I've gotten more disciplined with very few live trades per day, and just looking for 8 ticks max. with 1 contract, still - but still putting in a lot of screen time in sim mode.
My background is writing/media (magazines and for the web). Then, in 2001, I bought a massage business, just as NC was gaining licensure (each state across the U.S. has different requirements). Also teach yoga.
Along these lines, at the same time that I was learning trading, I got my Series 6, life/long term care/health ins. licenses (financial advisor track) and worked for a financial services firm. But soon, they said I couldn't trade using NinjaTrader/Mirus Futures -- had to use 1 of 13 firms (only 3 of which did managed futures and that required a much higher min. account and 2x the commission cost - retail). So, I left that for now.
Mine is one of the often heard stories ... recently laid off. With visionbs of being a successful day trader. I have 8 trading sessions of virtual trading with 11 winning trades and 2 losing trades. So much for paper money now i think i am ready to try the real thing.
