No trades yesterday. I watched the noon hour to see if anything developed and couldn't place a trade due to chop. Computer caught a virus at home and was working on that for a few hours before bed. Will place trades tonight on my nightly review. It is a slow night, i.e. nothing planned, so I should have a few hours available to me to trade.
So, it has been another crazy day. Man, SO much has been going on that I'm just thankful to get enough time in to replay, even if it is a few minutes before my bedtime and cuts into my sleep. Oh well, in the grand scheme of things, what is a little sleep lost here and there.
Cleaned up my computer and got the trading back on, but it took me probably 2 hours this afternoon alone, and I sold a car that has been collecting pollen in my driveway too. So at least my busyness has been productive.
My first trade of the day. I'm seeing alot of shadows and market temperance. No wild or crazy swings, but it seems like no solid move either. Given it is just about an hour into the day, I can't expect too too much. Honestly though, I'm surprised at how the TF has gotten. Is this because of the possibility of QE3? Who knows. Patience is the name of the game today. I scrapped the 70 tick chart due to the wild variations in price. As I said before, I'm not out to scalp and so seeing the chop and swings on the tick chart just isn't my bag. It has worked other days, but not today.
Overall, too, I'm glad that I can adapt so rapidly to changing market dynamics. I think that will benefit me greatly. Now, as for this trade, I feel it was a good one, but it took some rough moves to stick to it. Saw the blue entry bars but the MA's hadn't crossed, but when they did I took the trade. It went on to match the previous HOD, and blue sell bars came in, and I closed out for exactly 20 ticks. Good trade, and I'm happy with it.
My first short for the day and I feel a little better, but still skittish seeing all these shadows. I feel like stopping is just a market sneeze away. Lots of pullbacks today, just had to suck it up and deal with the chop. It can't always be sunshine and rainbows.
+9 ticks and I feel lucky to have gotten that many.
No third trade. I felt uneasy about both the trades and didn't want to test my luck. Pullbacks or threat thereof seemed to be the theme of the day. Got my goal and I'm done. Now, time for sleep
I'm simming yesterday's TF. Stuck again to the TF with my 1 min and 66 tick chart. I have noticed that the tick chart is best on the first trade to signify market correction. I missed the opening short, which is fine and dandy as there is almost always another trade, and the days there aren't, I don't want to be in the market.
So, long. I felt good about the trade. Simple entry and I didn't rush it. Got a bit hesitant about the trade before it moved out of the tick chart watching to the minute chart watching. I held it through resistance and a slight reversal during the transition and it really paid off. I think this was a great trade. +33 ticks.
Next week I'll be back to my journal full time. With the promotion came new schedule bids. Given the 24x7 hr environment in which I work, I have decided that a schedule of 4pm-12am is ideal and thus have that now, starting next week. Will it suck for regular life stuff? Maybe. But I still have my weekends and this will also allow me to trade without distraction during the day. So a sacrifice for the greater I feel. My wife understands and we both know it is only a matter of time before my trading becomes my full time, preferred, occupation.
been reading your journal for a while now, sounds like you are on the right track.its funny, , just like various indicators, or charts , there are some peoples journals that i unsubscribe to, because i get tired of people and their videos, where they make thousands, and dont explain what they are doing.i find yours , and a few others , to be realistic, and sometimes similar to mine.congrats on the promo, and keep up the good trading!
