Hi Mike, it is for each thread, I post anything or follow. i.e.: Bookmap xRay
Till some days ago, I could find under "thread tools" : unsubscribe, but there always is to read "subscribe to thread" doesn't matter if I follow or not
Yesterday I noticed some random slowdowns on the site, with some pages taking several seconds to load. I believe I've narrowed down the problem, and have made a change just now to try to mitigate it.
Guys, are any of you also experiencing this issue? Trying to figure out if this is widespread or not.
To duplicate:
Go to 'thread tools' at top of thread. Click 'subscribe to thread'. Enter a subscription.
Return to thread, reload page. Go back to 'thread tools'. It should say "Unsubscribe to thread". If it still says "Subscribe to thread" please tell me.
OK, regarding subscribing and unsubscribing to threads:
This change (below) is rolling out to threads now, give it an hour to appear site-wide. If you click the button and it takes you to another page, that thread hasn't been updated yet.. give it time.
I've enhanced it so we are using a behind the scenes AJAX call. I removed the option under "Thread Tools" and instead you'll only see the option on the thread overview section at the top of the page, in the blue button, like so:
2020-04-23_19-21-37
When you load the page, it will say either Follow or Unfollow based on your subscription status. When you toggle the status via the button, it will make a call to the server without refreshing the page.
Please let me know if you have any issues with this.
Just a note for journal purposes, the Postlinks Expansion (where FIO links in posts are expanded) now also uses ajax to update the thread details (replies, thanks) vs the older static method.
