My "Viper" is just something that I think functions like the viper. I have no idea if it's like the "real" viper or not. Just a tool to keep me on the right side of the market.
Thank you for taking the time to go back over and annotate the trades more, that is really helpful. I understand why you'd go short on the 2nd trade you higlight (7:47). But what I don't understand is why you wouldn't try for a long?
I totally agree about trading during news. I'm going to start making the news part of my daily routine. Is there a good site that has a list of the news releases?
I've never been convinced that everyone is using these classical pivots. I prefer to use natural ones form the price action. Major swing highs and lows and high/low of day. I think one would have to agree that those would be more influenciel than the mathematical ones.
If you add the natural ones, then add classic, murrey math, etc. you end up with so many that price is always bouncing off one of them.
A good source for natural pivots is https://www.pivotfarm.com/ The guy doing it started a thread on Elite Trader a last year. It was very interesting. I decided not to trade them as he does but I still find them useful. I'm not sure how the new site works, I get them by email every day. I'm attaching today's here. He gets them from the charts, I forget what timeframes, daily & four hour I think. It's a great thread:
Thanks BLZ it's getting clearer, this answers my question about when does OBV not confirm. The only part that's not clear is why did you decide to put your OBV line where you did? I'm curious why it's not above the original peak where resistance started or the peak above that a few bars later? You lowered the OBV line but i'm not sure why.
This looks really simple, I like what you're doing.
