This is my introduction to this fourm. First I would like to thank Mike for bringing this all together for new and advanced traders alike! I have been trading on and off for 1 year and have enjoyed reading the forms. Now that I have retired from my weekly job I will have the time to have fun with my trading. Thank You Mike for this site.
Thanks for that - I tried. I am looking to register for the Elliot Wave Theory Webinar listed under elite members - see attached screen shot. There is no button next to it as suggested- just a date? How to register in advance as recommended. Cheers?

At the moment, I'm a trader wannabe.
Started using Ninjatrader and basically am following DOW 30 using S&P500 when I need confirmation for any strategy I may think has grail potential.
I'm messing around with the ZigZag and SMA and have started learning C# as the wizard cannot save under a different file name when changes have been made.
A storm took out my ethernet port and have just borrowed a wireless router to see if this is the route to take, so my communication will be a little intermittent over the next few days.
I first got into commodities in 1998, $2000 in an account with $75 commissions per contract per side. A lot of screen time watching and learning, waiting for what looked like setups (big gaps, unusual spread ratios, etc) and using options just previous to government reports. I had 15 min delayed quotes, and had to call my broker three time zones away to place and order (I'm in California), who in turn would call the desk at the exchange. I would usually get a report of a fill about 30-45 minutes later.
I wanted to do spreads but my broker would only drop the commission to $65/side per contract, which meant that a trade had to do better than $260 just to break even.
After 5 months, I had dropped from 2k to $1900 in my account, but thought of myself as successfull in getting a trading education and making about $3500 for the broker
My wife thought otherwise, and we agreed to close the account.
Learned about stop hunting and other advantages the floor traders had through Futuresource forums at the time; I am so glad to have found bigmiketrading for advice from those who trade successfully.
Now beginning again, this time with more time and more money, my main emphasis is on risk control and learning the software available now. I still like spreads and options, and I am constantly studying fundamentals more closely than the technicals.
