After giving BookMap a try on X_TRADER,i have found it to be a solid tool not only for learning about market dynamics but its ease of use.
There are however some weak points, well not so much weak, but more things that take the edge off from it really being ridiculously intuitive for an active scalper.
I will be contacting the guys and just letting them know how i got on.
I have attached a BookMap chart which shows a clear squeeze as sellers get caught loading up on the lows in the fdax traded on the EUREX.
This was taken from a market reply, but absolutely could have been taken real-time when the opportunity arose.
No point me saying too much, just take a look at the pic.

Here is a BookMap chart of the fgbl.
You don't want to be shorting this 'grinding' long market,do you?
No sellers on top and plenty of volume underneath.
Say no more.

@switchtrading I just viewed the webinar and thought this looks very promising. In your first example what are you seeing that tells you the shorts were squeezed? I guess I having a little trouble interpreting the shades of gray other than understanding the white means larger size. And have you still been using this bookmap? How's it going? Thanks,
Basically if you look to the far right of the graphic,I have yellow boxes.
The 'green' stack indicates sellers hitting the bid.So you can see that the sellers were quite aggressive in their short positioning as price began to 'rollover'.
I knew their buy stops got run above 91 by the way price traded through that level. It was very whispy and fast paced, which is standard to see on a run of stops.
With regards whether I'm still using it,not at the moment.I am transitioning to jigsaw tools.
BookMap is a very nice tool though and gives transparency to the market. You really see what's going on.
If you find numbers hard to process realtime then BookMap helps as its graphic based.
Its also offered through IB and they are working to offer Ninja currently.
Just give it a trial and see if you like it.
If you have any more Q's just let me know.
Sorry for any mistakes here,I'm sending this through via my Nexus 4 phone, highly NOT recommended lol.
Take it easy.
Rgds
Got it; that makes sense. We're on the same boat as I am transitioning to jigsaw tools as well. I saw this webinar and just started listening and I kept thinking this might be a great tool to supplement the jigsaw tools. Another way to see the same information more visually. I will have to give it a shot after I transition to Jigsaw tools. One thing at a time. Maybe we can come back to this later on and collaborate since this tool is so new and not much info out there on how to best use it.
Take care and try the Samsung Galaxy S5 which should be out in April if you're in the market for a new phone.
Sure,sounds good.
And thanks for the heads up on the Galaxy.
I'm an android user so i'll give Samsung a go next time around.
I have found my Nexus battery life to be the real downer.Just has no staying power lol
It is well priced though.
Take care.

When will the Ninjatrader bookmap be available? Are you looking for a beta tester? I already use Velox rim tape....

Hi everyone,
We are happy to announce the release of BookMap for NinjaTrader!
This new BookMap version is available for download at our website.
For those of you who have already experimented with BookMap, here are some of the additional feature / fixes included in this new release:
Ability to import BookMap to NinjaTrader either as an Indicator or as a Strategy. This allows the use of BookMap for viewing and analysis purposes only.
Fixing of a bug that cause frequent crashes of few instruments, which was obviously frustrating to some of you.
Reducing CPU load, especially in full zoom-out view
Using color gradient to distinguish between executions initiated by buyers or sellers.
Ability to reset the volume bars accumulation. This can be done either manually or automatically at a preset frequency, by right clicking your mouse while hovering over the volume bars area.
Marking the currently transmitted book depth with thin lines over the column representing that current book size (first column on the right side of the chart). These markings allows the trader to distinguish between actual book size and cashed book size stored by BookMap.
Zoom-in up to 5 seconds.
We hope you will enjoy BookMap. We would like to keep an dialogue with all BookMap users and we welcome any of your future comments, either here on the forum or on the BookMap forum.
