My buddy trader (who is clinical biologist) will be back in august from his stay in Spain
i will talk about it with him
i plan to do a detailed check-up end of august anyhow
i have intensified my workouts since early July and my trading has improved significantly
i'm monitoring my health, i think bi-monthly is ok...
last month results were skewed because of muscle impact
giving false positives on liver and heart-attack
Note about my friend, she is not doing well in the medical trial. The symptom's that disappeared with me cooking for her, have come back because she isn't doing the diet anymore. Also, she woke up last Thursday with a rash from head to toe, a side affect from being in the study. She was told, if the rash is about 1/3 of the body, she can stay in the study so she stopped taking what they were giving her and was hoping, the rash would lessen etc.
We are waiting to hear about her status.
All I can say is, prevention is the way to go.
Do not let yourself get sick just because you buy into the current thinking of what we are told we need to eat?
The American diet causes disease, do not end up being a statistic.
Prevention is where it is at.
Wishing you good health,
Rachel
PS: I agree that disease is a combination of factors: we need to remove toxic chemicals from our environment, stay emotionally happy, eat organic foods with an emphasis on plant based foods and hereditary also comes in to play. It is looking at the whole picture and be willing to be active in your own health care and not just think science or the medical institution is going to over come nature. We have to work with nature and take responsibility for ourselves.
How about some bean sprouts....a lot better for you than cooked beans ....
Did you know that freezing food can destroy perhaps 70% of nutrients...
and cooking can destroy perhaps 80%....if cooked and frozen not much will be left....
Thank you for your input.
Actually beans are great for you.
They reduce the blood vessels to rogue cells in the body.
For thousands of years, human beings have been eating cooked food and as long as it is balanced with fresh food, you will stay healthy.
I tried a raw food diet for 9 months and it wasn't for me.
I have had great success with a vegan diet that incorporates Macrobiotic foods. I have reversed illness, look younger than my age, have lots of energy and have NO health problems.
I had some mung bean sprouts the other day in a salad that also had beans and rice.
I knew people who had been raw for years and they started getting into binge eating etc.
I was eating at a raw food restaurant and my friend pointed out, the couple in the back had been raw for years and they would binge eat.
I personally saw them order entree after entree...... and they kept eating. Each person had ordered about 10 entrees each and they didn't stop till the chef came out and refused to serve them.
Also, knew someone who went raw and after a few years, her body gave out on her and to restore her health, she needed to eat cooked foods: grains, beans, vegies....
She was eating her idealized raw food diet but not listening to the needs of her body and it gave up on her because she wasn't getting all the nutrition she needed.
She is doing much better now, so eating cooked food can restore health.
One needs to temper idealism with what is reasonable and balanced.
You may want to go through this thread and actually take the time to watch the video's posted, they are very informative with science and research shared by MD's on the cutting edge of health care.
Eating a vegan diet can maintain and reverse disease, what is bad about that?
The people eating a vegan diet are receiving benefits even with cooked food.
In my life, I have meet a good amount of people who reversed cancer, some with a raw food diet and some with a macrobiotic diet and some with medical procedures and some with a holistic MD.
There are many paths to the same destination.
My thing is, there is science that the average American does not know about and not knowing is a great injustice.
Because of greed, the powers that be, have kept people in the dark and promote this illusion that we need: flesh and dairy to live which
actually promotes ill health and people loose loved ones etc.
Our environment is very polluted an if we want to stay healthy, we need to remove as many toxins from our environment and food as possible and that includes pesticides.
I just want people to have the information, so they can make their choices, knowledge is power and that can come from life experience and from learning.
There is a wonderful book I refer too a lot of the time: Healing with Whole Foods, Oriental Traditions and Modern Nutrition by Paul Pitchford.
Amazon sells it or check it out at a library, it has a lot of good information.
The website, https://nutritionfacts.org/, is an excellent source of information about plant based diets. Many of the videos deal with the relationship between food and cancer. There is nothing magical about a diet of raw foods. Cooking developed for good reasons.
Want to get cancer? Have plenty of dairy and eat lots of chicken.

Eating vegan (cooked + raw) gives you all the nutrition you need (except B12, zinc and a couple others), even though cooking certain foods destroys much of the nutrition within (it can help others - eg mushrooms). So totally raw is unnecessary as you will simply get excess nutrition, which is later excreted, and perhaps even bad as you might not cover all the micro nutrient bases?
Eating a vegan plant based diet: cooked and raw, actually gives you all the nutrition you need. B12 is found in fermented foods: home made sauerkraut and other fermented foods like daikon pickles, pickles, miso, brewer's yeast (I get mine from Bragg, other brewer's yeast can and may be made from GMO beets etc.)
If you want to play it safe, you can order B12 from Dr. Mercola's website.
Cooking foods has certain benefits raw foods do not have.
The people, I have seen who have been on a totally raw diet: some are fine with it and other's with time, do not get all the nutrition their body needs and to over come that, start to binge or their body functions collapse on them.
When it comes to nutrition, it is best to listen to your body.
Especially when you change your diet, you will go through a period of adjustment.
It takes 7 years to remove animal foods from your body.
Detox can be a gradual thing or you can jump totally into it but you should be aware of it.
If you went and saw a naturalopath, they would recommend a detox program for you.
The book Healing with Whole Foods by Paul Pitchford has a lot of good information.
Just a note: when I steam veggies, I will take some of the water from the pot and mix it with 3 year old Barley Miso for 1-3 minutes and then pour that over my veggies etc. That water at the bottom of the veggie pot is mineral rich.
Also, within a short period of changing your diet, how things taste will change. 1st Organic foods taste much better than foods with pesticides and such. Then in a short period of time, you will start to enjoy these new foods, then your body will function better, you will feel better and then if you ever eat regular food again, you will taste the pesticides, the chemicals and will no longer want them.
As your body releases past toxic build up, you may go through a detox of desiring them.
Two experiences:
1. went to a yoga teachers retreat and the 1st day there, they decided to do a Beet and Carrot Casserole Fast. To make a long story short: about the 3 day, I started to get a skin rash and with time, it itched a lot. I was going through a physical detox: my liver was expelling toxins through my skin. If that happens, make a soup with potatoes and it will reduce the detoxing and re-adjust your diet, so the detox is less.
2. After about 2-3 years on a vegetarian diet, I had another detox event that was pretty intense. I was a waitress in a vegetarian restaurant back then and during my shift, I swear I could smell a bacon and tomato sandwich. So much so, I wanted one very much. I asked a fellow vegetarian, if he could smell a bacon and tomato sandwich and he smiled at me and asked how long I had been a vegetarian. He explained to me, as I was detoxing it was creating the sensation of smelling it (I was having an Olfacotry hallincation or it was just a memory coming up) as the bacon was leaving my body and it was creating the desire to have it.
Needless to say, I got through that night without eating a BLT and have never experienced anything like that again.
I mention this because you may at some point in the distance future go through such an event, if you go on a vegan diet and you should be aware of such things.
The way you can tell, that all the animal products have left your body, is when you can wear a copper bracelet and it does not tarnish your skin.
I mention these detox experiences so you understand, listening to your body as you are changing your diet: some of what your body will desire or go through is detox. Once you have cleaned out the toxins in your body, then listening to what it needs will be more true but you will go through a period of adjustment and that is good.
