A little about myself, I am a construction contractor feeling the effect's of the housing downturn and looking for a new avenue to go down. Have been studying and siming the ES and currencies for about 9 months now. So a newborn to daytrading I am. I appreciate all that you give here at your site Mike and I hope that someday I will be able to give back more than what I take from this site.

Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Hi. I have been in and out of (mainly futures) trading for a few decades now, usually with longer term approaches. Though I don't have the funds to trade it, my long-term portfolio system coded in TS has been up well over 50% per annum for many years, so I have some background in system design and testing even though I am not very good at either math or coding, rather strategic/structural planning.
Recently I have been trying to garner steady income from day trading but have not yet succeeded and am getting frustrated.
At this point I have realised that along with better discipline I need to drill down into money management as more of a basis for entry/exit rules, which hopefully will also improve discipline/emotions during live trading.
Having spent the past few hours as a newbie here looking at some of the indicators (even though I would rather not use any and would rather just focus on volume and price action), my next stop is the Money Management section!
This seems to be a really good trader's forum and I would like to express my thanks to Big Mike for setting it up.
Hi All,
I my first attempt at currency trading has not gone well. The account still has some value but I have decided to step back, slow down and develop solid habits and understanding for trading so I can make win more trades than I lose. I have a full time job but hope to be able to transition to trading forex as successful trader. I consider myself as a beginner in forex trading. Hopefully I can share what I have learned from reading fome of the educational sites as well as learn from members of this forum.
Hi everyone
I've been position trading futures for several years and for the last two or three have been trying to get to grips with day trading. The markets I concentrate on are ES and DAX. Over the years I've spent a long time programming indicators and strategies and am now tending towards developing something a lot less complicated than what I've been using up until now. Pleased to be part of the community.
I am glad I stumbled on this community and I am looking forward to learn from and contribute to.
I am a mathematician and software developer by training. After long years in hi tec I decided to give trading a chance. I blew my first account few years back using Tradestation, mostly on stocks. That was before Tradestation had those paper accounts you can reset
Since then I matured, got to appreciate the psychological aspects of this business and converted to IB. After two years of using IB API and Java, I've decided to use Ninjatrader for everything (discretionary and automated). I use VSA-like methodologies (Wyckoff, Williams) to trade mostly futures and some stocks. Looking forward to cooperate with anyone also along those lines, maybe in building VSA indicator package for NinjaTrader.
I am new to Ninja but so far I found it just great.
I started trading stocks about 2 years ago, but never did better than break even. About a year ago, I moved over to futures (ES) and my account is still about break even. This is probably because I made a bundle before I lost it, instead of the other way around!
I'm still looking for the methodology that fits my style.
I hope to share what little I know and learn a lot from what other share.
I am Dan, screen name dandxg and DanielM, I have been trading full time for 4 years with some success. I became enamored with volume a couple of years ago and spent a good deal of time learning VSA/Wyckoff. I have traded eminis and currency futures with a dash of gold futures. I have yet to learn how to code, but I will, and I hope that I can bring some good ideas to the group.
