Hi, I have been trading futures on and off for 10 plus years with moderate success. I am very interested in Gann studies
and techniques, of course, I am open to other trading methods. If you have any Gann tips or advice,
I would enjoy hearing from you. Thanks, Don

I'm Tom Peace, a.k.a. TPaz from sunny Miami Beach and am happy to have joined Big Mike's several weeks ago. Figured I'd lurk for a bit to get the feel of things before rushing willy-nilly to start posting.
I've been trading TF, 6E, ES, & CL futures now for about 20 months, basically since my last IT consulting jig ended. Either I'm retired from that now, or just on a very long sabbatical. Depends on how the trading goes.
When I started I set out a ladder of 4 goals;
1 - Get Profitable - even if it's just by a dollar, don't be losing money.
(Took me 14 months to get to this level.)
2 - Make enough to cover my living expenses
(Took 3 more months to get to this level)
3 - Make enough to fully replace the salary I left behind with the IT job.
(I'm currently working towards this level)
4 - Finally, make $1,000/ day trading.
(If I can get to this level, my aim is to trade just to 2 or 3 days a week. Not go greedly padding some fortune in the bank account).
The other thing about me that may be interesting is that I trade with a weekly goal, not a daily one. I find it helps me deal with the psychology of trading better. It also helps to be able to pack up and sit out the days when the price action isn't cooperating.
When I'm not trading I can be found behind a camera, often photographing surfers. I've been lucky enough to get a few shots selected to be in Pentax's Photo Gallery which is quite a thrill for an amateur. You can check out my pix here TPaz Photography over a coffee break sometime.
I love travel and just spent 3 months touring the US National Parks. It worked out pretty well in that I was able to trading in the AM and visit the Parks in the afternoons. 15,000 miles of driving though - a bit much!
Look forward to sharing ideas and learning from all you out in the forums!
I started out swing trading hogs, Wheat & Cotton over 9 years ago and slowly migrated to day trading the 6E,YM & Corn , using Back to the future trading system.
I am contemplating a major / drastic change to the behavior of all downloads on the site. The change would be to make all downloads Elite Only. I mean all downloads, in posts, threads, downloads section, everywhere globally. The only exclusion …

as I read in the intro thread, i myself have also been to hell and back in trading. better trader because of it.
i think trading is a great way to make a living once we get out of our own ways and overcome and realize the false truths we have bought in to and continue to learn.
it is my hope that i can learn from others and share perspectives back as well.
i am a slow learner, but once i get something, it takes.
taking the complicated and simplifying it, is really more of a journey for me rather than a destination, it is only when i look back at the path that simplicity emerges.
i am certainly christian and am led to believe that without that relationship, my life would be drastically different.
there are too many instances where knowledge, insight, and wisdom had come in crucial timing to discount the power of Christ or to argue against the creator who created the mind to argue in the first place.
the reminiscence of a stock operator read, as well as learning about the great traders has also been of great value.
the Douglas' read on discipline really helped bring things together for me thus far.
Getting my head clear and realizing that among the infinite choices the market provides, I only need to adhere to a flexible mindset, realistic methods, and effective execution to make things happen for myself.
i learned that the opportunity the market offers is of no limit, yet, pigs get fat, and hogs get slaughtered.
pride does precede the fall, therefore, striving for perfection is the snare, but to remain flexible, real, probabilistic, humble and accept the fact that the future is a mystery, the past is behind us, and the [now] is where to be.
TRADING NEWBIE!!! Have been an investor not a trader. Looking at PT first, with maybe FT some years down the road when I retire and have things somewhat figured out here.
Always fascinated with stocks since jr high. Business degree. From an early age found life was easier by observing what other did well and often more importantly didn't do well and not replicate it! So that is why I am here, for honest help, advise, and learning from what others have done!
For my career in same industry for 30 yrs, and owned own business for 25 yrs, looking for more mental stimulation. Have some days can sit in front of screen while working other times/weeks have multiple days traveling. So have to find a system that can be flexible with my schedule.
Thanks BigMike for this forum,
(Growing up my best friends older brother was also named Mike so he was always Big Mike and I was Little Mike, so in the circle of life, and with my limited knowledge I am again.... Little Mike!)
