I'm about to begin trading for the first time (with a little help EOTpro's indicators). To be quite blunt, I can't stand working and I really hope this works out because I'd love to be able to "work" from home.
I'm a total n00b, but I'll do my best to contribute to this forum wherever and whenever I can. See you inside.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Glad to join. Just moved to country and no web access so will pop in when can. Have traded Eminis and am looking at Forex. Blew out couple of accounts and about 10K so quess I am somewhat "experienced", whatever that means. Taking it easy nowadays.
Mike,
Thanks for setting up this forum.
I'm just retired & haven't programmed in 20yrs so I'm new to forums, OO/C#/Visual Studio and NinjaTrader and FOREX. But started working on an Automated Strategy in Easy Language(TradeStation) but TS had data connectivity issue with FX so I moved to NT in Oct. I'm basically trying to scalp in Forex. I haven't gone Live yet due to EL to C# differences. I've designed a Money Management/Lot Sizer as part of the Pyramiding logic but I'm having issues with Forex due to the differences in handling the "Lot Size" in the Backtesting engine & Live trading engine.
So I'm hoping to get some good pointers in this forum in both NT programming techniques and in developing/running automated trading strategies.
I'm still relatively new to futures (3 months on simulation) and am about to go live soon. I typically trade ES, although occasionally try and scalp CL or 6E.
Glad to be apart of it and hope I can contribute once I find my feet. Cheers.
Happened across this community looking for historical ES data and cannot believe my fortune for finding this place! I have been studying trading off of volume for some time now (have been an active trader for a few years) and I have not come across a better community discussion on the subject.
Hoping to be able to add to the already rich environment. Happy trading everyone and for the US folks... have a great thanksgiving this week!
Traded the last 7 years beginning with FX then moved to futures the last 1.5 years. Futures have a lower tax rate than FX trading. Seven years ago I began I blew my first 5K making all the newbie mistakes associated with hubris. Then I quit trading for a few months until I began reading blogs and print literature to get my head around the "game."
I enjoy trading and like most, have spent countless hours staring at charts. It may become a full-time job but at this point, it is only for extra income.
The best trade thus far I have made was to have purchased gold and silver in 2005. When gold moved above $500 an oz. and silver above $8.24. Ownership of the physical allows one to freely trade contract futures (paper). In a sense, my gold and silver trading still continues in that those physical purchases affords me any addtional leverage I may need when trading paper.
Just joined...thanks for the Ninja replay files- a true gift. I'm looking forward to checking out the site, forum, and getting to know the members.
Trading Newb here.
Trading ES for the past 5 months.
Created/coded a few NT indicators.
Discovered how to auto Tweet trades.
What else...?
Oh, I like puns.
Me too, Big Mike. Despite being a psychologist, I blew out 4 accounts on the road to achieveing some freedom from pride, greed and triggeritis. Looking forward to dialog with some emotionally healthy consistently earning fulltime daytraders...
