I'm (unfortunately) still in dev phase, so I dont use the forum as much as I will in the future, but ... I tried searching for 'held bid'. The first thread in the result doesnt contain 'held bid' at all. Deep down in the results is an interview with Mike Bellafiore where 'held bids' appears. Is this expected, that a thread containing a near perfect match scores so much lower?
I did the same search. First results were this thread (now) and then two other threads where the word held and the word bid were present in the same post or in nearby posts in same thread.
You can try adding extra words to refine further.
The aim is for most relevant threads to be at the top of the list. But the first 5 entries do prioritize recency over relevancy.
Got your email about the continuing new-post problem. I have made some rather radical code changes to try to get around this limitation. I think it is going to work. Please check again tomorrow and let me know either way!
I made the same change for instant notification subscriptions, so if anyone notices a problem with the email when clicking 'View Post' as of 8:30am eastern, let me know.
Mike, I didn't reply earlier about the new search because of time constraints. I just tried the following
But I don't understand what I'm supposed to expect. All I see is a bunch of threads. Whether they are related to my username is anyone's guess?
Then I tried this
and it says there's only one result. This is wrong:
1) If I go via the classic 'Advanced search' it returns 21 results
2) The single result returned above is a post by Big Mike that also contains the words 'challenge' and 'xplorer'
