Hi Mike-Thanks for the blog-I plan this year to put legs under my trading dreams-All the help here is appreciated.
Will have more time to visit as time goes on-I am interested in the ES and Penny Stocks and riding some of those
Currency Trends-I like country cooking, children, and that feeling of confidence knowing I'm on the right trail.
I've been an on-off trader for a few years. I day-trade while I'm not on IT projects. Find myself doing a lot more trading than IT work - growing old in the IT Industry is not so cool! Anyway, I trade mainly the FTSE Index, DAX and a few currencies. I use absolutely no indicators and rely mainly on market geometry to read charts and make my trading decisions. Would I say I've been successful? Well, I'm definitely getting there.
This looks like a great place to be. I hope to be able to learn something and hopefully contribute some too.
I'm here because Big Mike keeps telling me to contribute. Just Kidding!!!!!!!!
I am here because I want to learn!
I'am not an elite member... not sure if I should be. I dunno. I'am posting this because I'm finally getting around to opening a Futures account to spec. I have been trying to do my DD for a long time and figured I could do it on my own, however I have decided to bite the bullet and get a broker until I get my wings wet.
Anyhow.. I won't name the broker but he is charging $35 a side for options. I get access to reports and his knowledge, but either than that I do not know anybody I can really ask and get an honest answer to some of my questions like:
1) Is $35 per trade expensive?? In fact I know it is compared to my DD at discount brokers such as Interactive Brokers, but I guess knowledge is expensive. Should I try to get a better commission Deal with an account of 10K.. or 20K?
2) There are several platforms available for me to use but only the simplest of them are free. My account is sort of Broker assisted so I can trade on my own with help from the broker so that I can learn. My Platform choices are
1 CQG intergrated client- have to pay
2 CQG Q-Trader-- have to pay
3 RJO Vantage --FREE
4 RJO web based--FREE
5 T4--have to pay for
6 TTX_Trader-- have to pay for
7 TTX_Trader Pro--have to pay for
Maybe I can broker a deal to get one of the paid for platforms for free.
Mostly I want to build spreads. I read charts so I want good charting software. I will most likely be looking at hourly, daily and weekly charts. Maybe somebody knows where I can use ELDER IMPULSE SYSTEM for my commod charts. I Wont be an active trader. More of a position trader till i get my feet wet.
I read so many different things about platforms and clearing houses.... ninja trader this and tradestation that.
All I want to do is build and spreads and trade like a turtle... lol!
I am 29, I farm with my family, and i want to be filthy rich.
So i guess Basically what i'am trying to say is.. I'm glad I made my first post because now it will be easier to contribute and you guys will have to help me to LOL because this community is as only good as it contributing users.
One more thing.. Big Thanks to Mike for spamming my inbox to put in my first post!!
