I'm thrilled to locate this forum. Can tell Mike and the members are very generous and willing to share and help!
I started the trading venture early this year, ie after getting married and relocated to a small city last Dec. Tried a few systems and programs. Most did not deliver what they promised unfortunately. The good news is: I got to know a few trading friends who have been very helpful.
I read over 50 books and watched 100+ videos on trading. Have some really good trading e-books such as The High Probability Trading by Marcel Link and Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas. Please let me know if there's a way to share them.
Thanks for your best wishes gabga100! I started paper trading in Jun and plan to do real trades in Jan. Am looking for indicators that will be useful for a choppy market. Any ideas?
I tried to download some Ninja indicators/templates from the Downloads section. When I right clicked the icon, the saved target was a html file and not in zip (for indicators) or xml (template) format. Not sure how to resolve it .. sigh ..
Would be great if you or someone else can give me some tips. Thanks in advance.
Hi. I just want to introduce myself. I am a forex trader and I just recently started using NinjaTrader for charts. I used TradeStation before but I had some issues with the platform, as well as the forex broker. So right now I trade with an ECN, MBTrading, and I am satisfied with MBTrading, at least for now. I have been through a ton of the major forex brokers. I have been trading forex for 10 years now, 5 years part time and now full time. I do not have too many indicators on my charts. In fact I recently downloaded a template and tested it for scalp trades and so far I have to say that I have been pretty successful, quick pips here and there. Well I wish you all the best of luck. This is a great forum.
Hey guys and gals. I'm really glad to have found this forum, looks like there is a lot of really good info... and people willing to participate.
I've been out of the trading world for a bit, but my experience is almost exclusively in futures. I traded out of a prop shop in Chicago for 3 years, mainly ES with a little ZN and 6E. We traded off TT with CQG for charts. My old self loved pure order flow and chart patterns, nothing but a few trend lines drawn on my chart. I'm working to improve seeing on how MACD, Stochs, and possibly Bollinger bands can help generate a few new ideas.
Happy Trading.
David here. I came accross Big Mikes looking for Ninja Indicators.
Still trying to find my way as a trader. I think I've done all the newbie things that newbies do. I'm not a fan of that term, but it fits me to a T. I've lost a lot of money. I've had some really good trades and given it all back and then some. I've bought indicator packages for $$$$, more than once, I've watched CD's, been to seminars, red books, I've paid for courses that look great and probably are great, but I learned that methods are only as good as the person trading them. I've now discovered it's what is in my head that makes or breaks me.
I'm hoping to find some simplicity and common sense to trading. It shouldn't be as difficult as I make it.
Comments and feedback are appreciated and encouraged.
Hey all, been a member here for a few months now, first post. I have been trading since July 08, not profitable yet but working towards getting there soon.
Yes. Trading is Simple and it's not Easy! I agree with you 1,000,000,...% that it's our emotion that breaks or makes it. I used to pay a few investment advisors for giving me stock or directional option picks. Made some and lost all + more at the end. All of them do not have an exit strategy. I still hold stocks (used to be a 2-digit $ ones) that are now traded at less than 5 cents - Unbelievable!
I'm learning to be my own investment advisor so that I will not repeat the same trading mistakes! Have a Trading Plan and daily Game Plan like running a business - that's what I learned from Marcel Link's High Probability Trading book. I highly recommend it. Feel free to provide me with an email address (has the capacity to receive an enclosure over 8MB) if you want an e-copy.
