I am not afraid of flying to the US. However, I am trying to avoid long distance flights as they would have quite an impact on my ecological footprint. Carbon dioxide emissions for a return flight from Berlin to Chicago are around 6 metric tonnes per passenger. This is about twice as much as my share of annual emissions from heating my home (2 t) and driving my car (1 t).
I am not saying that I will never travel to Chicago again - I have visited CBOT in 1982 - but I won't take a long distance flight for a short trip anymore. Thank you for your invitation and I promise to call you in case that I drop by. And please let me know, in case you are visiting Berlin. There are lots of good restaurants around as well.
In order to let the indicator display correctly, you would need to set a right side margin on your chart. This margin is needed as space for the labels.
Please right-click on your chart, select "Properties" in the dropdown menu and then set the "Right side margin" to 200.
Below is a sample chart which is scrolled to the left and which shows the plot labels.
I appreciate your stewardship of the environment. I did not know the impact of such a flight. I'd love to see Europe and meet it's people. We only fly domestically when time does not permit a road trip. I prefer to see the people, culture, and landscape rather than fly over it. Now that I am aware of the externalities I will adopt another reason to drive, stay longer, or stay put. Dan
