Just started trading sim and trying to educate myself. Mostly interested in stack trading using fundamental analysis and working toward technical analysis with ATS. I am learning ninjatrader right now. The long term goal is of course to make money. I am a software engineer but facinated with finance and the stock market.
Glad to be a part of this, Thanks Mike for the great resource.
I also was a software engineer. One thing I have learned but not yet mastered is that the market does not in any way behave like software. Forget everything you know about software. This is a business (repeat business) based upon probabilities and finding strategies and discipline to win more than you lose. This is much closer to playing professional poker than any other business. Note that a professional poker player is not a gambler. He is a professional who manages probabilities and reading opportunities.
Good learning (not luck which has nothing to do with trading).
I'm looking forward to learning from the Big Mike Trading Forum members. I've experienced live futures trading briefly, and am now focusing on simulated trading. I want to learn about indicators and strategies to use with NinjaTrader.
Thanks for the great resource.
Kim
Hi Everyone,
I'm new to futures. I've traded stocks for about a year or so, and hope to start sim trading on ninja trader soon. I wouldn't call myself a programmer, but I have experience with beginner level java and vb script. So I've had to write code that has used various looping statements, conditional statements, but nothing too complicated. Perhaps this may be useful for ninja script.
Have just started venturing into the world of trading, and am mainly looking at Forex. Currently just exploring how to go about trading, and right now am doing simulated trading and learning about indicators.
I'm new to day trading and NT, still on Sim trading futures. Have experience trading my retirement account on TOS, but that's different than day trading for a living. Thank you for keeping up this forum and giving it a lot of attention. Once I make headway in trading, I hope to contribute here for the future newcomers. Not being programmers ourselves, my husband and I are now testing GTX automated trading strategy from Dimension Trader (Mike Green). Will post more after trying it out.
I'm pretty new to trading but have been studying it for a while now. This forum has been very helpful in giving feedback and info on things a beginning trader needs to know and learn. Thank you!
