Good morning guys, glad to be here, and finally able to make a step in the direction of legitimate trading!
I am currently a client of a managed trading fund by Draven LLC (amazing husband and wife team!) here in Arizona, and have always been amazed by what these guys do. It is thanks to them that I am making this step into learning it myself!
I look forward to the ups and downs of the market, and making money the whole way!
This is more of a game than a job, so I can't wait
My name is Jon. I have been trading for 2 years. I am about to quit my job and full time trade. no, JK. I am about to quit my job and move to Korea for a year to work on some time management and discipline while I teach ESL. I am from California and love baseball. My favorite instrument to follow is Crude Oil and I have been following MFbreakouts thread recently. I currently trade on Nadex with very minimal risk. working on consistency and saving up money before I venture into a futures acc.
I'm having issues with my print screen abilities and don't like posting with out pictures, but will figure that out (anyone have any tips?)
I am brand new to this forum. I've been trading for many years with up and down success. Like most folks,( Kudos to you Big Mike for admitting it) I have blown up my account repeatedly. Started out as a full time broker in 1982 with Dean Witter, became a CFP and then specialized in Estate Planning. Became totally dissatisfied with all of the legal theft on Wall Street and bowed out in 1995.
Have done many other jobs since, but have always followed the markets, especially commodities and currencies. Have studied Fibonacci, Elliot Wave, Candlesticks and every other system that came along that grabbed my interest. I'm currently trading the dollar and the Nasdaq. Would love to get any information on how to help myself evolve as a trader.
Most of my issues seem to be with self-sabotage and repeating DUMB mistakes when I know better. USE STOPS, I tell myself repeatedly, (but it's got to turn around soon---arrrggghhhh). I use IB and am looking to open up to other charting methodologies, but life and earning enough money to support my habit keeps getting in the way.
I want to thank Mike and all of you others for making this forum available and although I consider myself quite a novice I will happily share whatever I've learned. Most of it has to do with keeping my emotions under control when I trade. That seems to be my biggest lesson.
