I am very much a beginner to the trading game. Have been a buy and hold investor for many years - "hows that working out for you?" - not well - can do better - so here we go !
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
My friend (who is a member already for some time) advised me to join the Big Mike club.
I trade the FDAX/FESX/FGBL in the EU morning and the NQ/YM/TF in the US morning for approx. 4/5 years now. (EU based)
Like many of you I blew up my account too some years ago.
To much emo and other bad trade behaviour during the trading.
I decided to build an automated strategy to help me to show the set ups to trade.
It took me 1.5 year and I´m (almost) finished with the job.
My RBB strategy (N7) shows Long and Short signals (warning signal lines and sound alerts) after all my pre set conditions are true.
After the strategy placed a Long or Sort visual signal, it places an OCO order. Limit OCO on one of the MA lines and the OCO stop order ahead of the price. Auto Stop Loss when price hits the Stop Loss line or when the price crosses the Stop Loss line with X (pre set) ticks.
Lots of parameters build in, such as ATM strategy parameters (T1/T2/T3 and initial SL) etc. etc.
Two horizontal lines function as no trading zone (the strategy takes no trades in that area) and can be dragged over the chart to an other (chop) area/level, without losing their function.
Different (instrument) strategy templates can be saved for each market.
Not a 100% auto trader (yet). Human brains still needed! So, not a big bucket of $ at the end of the day, but a great assistant to help me follow my own rules/trade conditions. It improved my trading by forcing me to follow my trade strategy/conditions/set ups in a more consistent way. It makes trading much more relaxed!
But the learning continues.
Hi all! Happy to be here!
I swing trade options, mainly credit spreads, butterflies, + iron condors. Working on getting the equity curve moving upward (have some work to do.....) Platform: thinkorswim, analysis: fibonacci, EMAs, RSI, and pivots. Am interested in camarilla lines, Keltner channels, Wms%R.
Newbie here, and looks like I've found the right place to get started.
I'm looking to trade ES and maybe Forex. I've got 10 years of programming experience from my day job and looking to put that coding experience to use via NinjaScript.
I come from an IT and telecommunications background, and have next to no trading experience.
I'm really looking forward to learning everything I can from the members and materials on this forum, as I start the long and daunting journey toward my goals.
I really appreciate the existence of this forum, I hope I can one day become a valued member of it, for others.
I'm 22. I trade options, only a few months. I'd say my level of knowledge is intermediate but my experience limited. I'd like to trade futures in the future lol.
My quest so far has led me to believe that trading is more about risk management than anything else and that mastering price action and supply/demand all within an economic context, is what truly matters?
Sort of at the brink of real life, contemplating the likelihood of succeeding as an independent trader vs corporate jobs, prop firms, etc :/
Hello my name is eddie , just starting out in the world of investing. So much info over the web not sure where to begin sorting it all out and get some direction. Any advise would be appreciated thanks
