I started investing in the stock market late 2007 and lost a considerable amount of money. I was just buying what my broker suggested to me. I had no idea about charts and technical analysis. In 2012 with the bull market taking place, I sold whatever stocks I had and took back one third of my initial capital. Had I waited a little bit more I would have BE. But I started reading TA, and thought it is easy so I am going to make more if I catch each swing.
So, started trading futures too early, and remember the first trade going against me and kept it till it expired. Lesson learned and started sim. Now almost two to three years later I trade live ,only trade FX spot market in order to control the size, and I am consistently BE. I decided to remove all indicators and invest my time only on PA, buying the books and the course of a well known trader and it helped me a lot in understanding what is going on.
Had I known the difficulty and the time and effort needed to potentially have a small edge in order to make something out of it I don't know if I would have started it. But since I have invested during he last three years all my time and personal life its too late to give up.
When I first became member in this site I couldn't see that the people in here are serious about this sport, and spent a lot of my time on different ones reading strategies from people that traded only for some months. A month ago I decided to become elite member, and I really admire the passion and work of a lot of people in here.
So, Thank to all the programmers, thanks to all those who give their time developing their journals and thank to you Mike for this wonderful site.
My name is Csongor I am from Hungary.I live in Ireland 7 years ago.
I have to divide my trading carrier in 2 parts.
1st part begin about 3 years ago when I started trading with stocks, with no experience at all, mostly I did the trades following the news and intuition. No need to say what was the result trading with no stop loss, and no plan.In few months I lost my trading acc.
2nd part starts about 2-3 months ago.I started to study hardly.Every day 10+ hours and it became my indoor hobby.I am studying market geometry. (I have to mention Mr Tim Morge as my master )
Now I plan my trades and I trade my plans.I do solid account management, risk reward(1:3 minimum) and I have success!I am trading now only demo accounts. I have 3 all in profit.
Slowly I am getting ready to open again real money account and start trading.I hope soon(1-3 years) I will be able to do this for living and no need to work in hospitality witch i did in my last 15.years.
My outdoor hobby is the scuba diving,I am a Padi rescue diver and I am studying marine archaeology in Dublin. Also I am interested in renewable energies.I have done a micro solar photovoltaic system implementation course (fetac 6)
Favorite book: Edvin Lefevre-Reminiscences of a Stock Operator

Good to be with you!!!
Good to be here, I am a beginer trading S & P futures Eminies, making just 4 to 8 ticks daily, But trying to learn how to make more without risking what I make, I discovered I had problems with my risk management and trying to improve it now..... Sharing a little bit of my experiences: I was 15 days getting 4 ticks profit, and due to my bad management in 1 day I lost them all, Then again I had 12 days doing 4 to 8 ticks and then boom! in 1 day lost all what I made.... So, I am learning now what I have to stop. and wait the next day...
Anyway, Look like a great forum, and hopefully I will get a little bit of your expereiences shared here.....

My name is Mario and I'm a novice -wannabe- trader from Mexico. I use Mt4 and I started my education reading a basic trading tutorial on another forum (specialized in forex).
I started with forex because I think it is the cheaper way to start trading for a beginner. You can open a demo account, download MetaTrader and you're ready to go! (also, there is so much free info for forex).
Some guy recommended this forum to me and I just started reading some great threads now that I'm interested in knowing the market and understanding the basic principles on price action and the reasons why price move in the first place.
