This is my very first post and instead of posting at "want your indicator created free" thread or something.. I think this is the right place, essentially because I want to say a big THANK YOU instead of asking something.
I am from Brazil. NinjaTrader is new here, only 6 months until today and it is facing some problems due data format between broker and BOVESPA..
I am not a programmer.. actually I can read code better than write, which makes me a good copy-paste programmer LOL.
Also I would like to thank a few guys (The Elders?) for all this community.
@Big Mike ( ) Without him futures.io (formerly BMT) wouldn't exist. And I appreciate your ethical conduct too.
@Fat Tails for his indicators and also his detailed posts
@traderpards for his efforts and contributions at so many threads
@NJAMC for his thread "Auto-Trading with NinjaTrader 7 - For newbies". Actually, I printed this entire thread!
@shodson for his code snipets, ideas and webinars
@sam028 I´ve learned with indicators and strategies you´ve posted.
..and so many others I cant remember/name right now.
The best step I did was become an elite member. I recommend!
I hope I can post more often and contribute to this community.
Hello Folks,
I have been trading stocks - funds - ETFs for 30 years. Mostly successful with fundamentals buy and hold. Then 2008 happened and it shook me out of my tree,; I lost a LOT of money. Then started to trade more on technicals, and lost a lot more money, I should a stayed with my "buy and hold" and just added stops.
Well that the past and I am trying day Trading futures. In the market of the last 2 weeks - I am just getting cut to shreds. I dont know if its the market being choppy or my strategy ( Range bars 3, with RSI 10/10, ParSAR .02,.2,.02) Seems logical to me that the market is just TOO choppy . Would appreciate Others experience on this market.
I have been trading for about a year...I am a day trader, using just PA (no indicators/oscillators)...recently, I just got into the Futures after trading FX spot for a while...
...I understand that this is a very tough game, but I am prepared to do whatever it takes to become profitable.
Every trader has a different story to tell and I find that amazing...I hope to learn as much as I can from this forum
Hey everyone,
Looking forward to diving into the various forums and learning as much as possible. I am a programmer/network security engineerd by profession, with a comfortable knowledge of 'investing' (Roth IRA, 401K, savings, no bad debt, 2 investment rental properties, buy and hold type stuff), but no real experience 'trading'. I will be learning as much as possible (reading books, blogs, journals, forums, and watching videos) over the next 6-12 months while I gather some funds to get started trading. Don't laugh, but I am about 50% done with "Day Trading for Dummies", and about 40% done with Day "Trading for a Living", they both seem to be pretty easy reads so far, any further suggestions are welcome.
First time posting on the forum, lots of great information here. Trading mainly the ZN and ZB using the jigsaw DOM and been having good results so far. Also use 1 tick renko chart with cummulative delta to get a feel of what the market has been doing and use it with the market profile to spot support and resistance. Anyone else trading the treasuries?
I am a Cloud Consultant by training that is looking to switch over to full-time trading over the next 2-3 months.
My experience is fairly extensive it stocks and options trading (for a non-pro!). I've been trading futures (ES) both Sim and live for the last year or so, and have managed to not go backwards! I am a prolific reader and am currently digesting this and a couple of other sites to try and catch up (at least a little bit) with the pros.
The recordings, content and tools on this site seem to be outstanding - along with the willingness to share. I plan on joining as a full member in a few days.
I've used quite a few services over the years with mixed results (Motley Fool, Schaeffers, Trading Advantage etc). Read quite a few columns (WSJ, Gumshoe - even Kramer on occasion!)...
Accounts are with IB, Ninja broker and TDA. TOS and Ninja are the main platforms - I am planning on focusing mostly on Ninja for the next couple of months (Futures only).
Looking forward to sharing anything new that may be interesting such as: ** Monitor setup: Macbook Pro 17 inch - and 2 4K Seiki TV's as monitors running at 4K 3840x2160 res at 30Khz. $339 at Walmart, mail order only). FANTASTIC deal! Turn sharpness to 0.
Thanks for what I have learned so far. Hope to contribute something useful as I progress.
found this forum by looking for MultiCharts resources. I'm from Germany and a software developer for 15 years, looking forward to help others and to be given help with automating trading.
