I just started on this forum to learn from all of those with much more experience than I. I started trading about 8 years ago and had a pretty good run of success. I used the $ to buy a house that I fixed up, and ceased trading during that time. Now I have sold that house, and am looking to get back into the market. Well, needless to say I got a nice big wake up call that I don't actually know anything, and am a bit in the red. I am using this wake up call to educate myself, play on paper, and eventually get back into trading successfully. I am excited to learn and share with all of you.
Completely new to trading and looking to use futures.io (formerly BMT) to figure out what is the right fit for me.
Been involved with poker for the last 3,5 years now of which 1,5 years primarily as an investor (backer).
Am looking to be able to get out of poker completely in about 3 years time and the journey starts here!
Hell-o folks! I am new to trading and have not really traded as a true trader. I have bought and sold shares, but only because I have invested in DRIP programs,co.sponsered programs etc..As far as true trading goes I am now enrolled in the Najarian brothers Optionmonster Protoge education program. I am learning and trying to figure out how to trade options. Option trading is what interests me. I really do not have enough experiences to be able to write anything else. Thanks for allowing me to enter this forum.
Desire to create successful automated strategies. After learning how to code in both TS and MT4, I realized the hard way that in terms of strategies on those platforms, you are going to get burned- either by someone else's poor strategy or your own because optimization is flawed on those platforms. NT7 looks like there is a chance to develop a long term profitable strategy. I look forward to hearing about some success stories on NT. I am thankful for this site as NT Help is a bit on the weak side.
I love that NT allows you to create custom optimizations types, as Sharpe Ratio and Net Profit are just not good enough. I hope to develop a good optimization type that eventually I can share.
Hello everyone,
I'm french and live in the French West Indies.

Hello, discretionary oil futures daytrader aspiring to develop consistency, I mark out levels using multiple time frame analysis in conjunction with market profile and tape read to confirm entries and exits. My big issue is patience and discipline if I can work this out I think I have a good chance of making money (I lose a lot because of overtrading on impulse, as well as exiting good trades early without a good reason). I've traded currency as well as US treasury futures, I like oil the best because it is very volatile, I also look forward to trying out indices in the future.
Hello Everybody,
I am glad to find this site, in my country there are very few forums and places for discuss stocks, futures, trading etc. I am from central europe , and waiting to get the new established account number from Optimus. Optimus would not be the first i trade at, I am not a pro but not newbie at all in trading. Is there anyone from here with account at Optimus Futures or in the openning account process? I was reading comments in traders hideout, it was good to see there are quite a few members with similar purposes.
Hi Mike and all members of this forum,
I'm an economist and a system trader. Today 90% swing trader but started 15 years ago as a value investor. Didn't do so well in 2000 but now I'm back. What a journey!
To successful trading
I have just joined this Forum after doing simulated option trading for about 10 years, and simulated futures trading for 1 year. A number of years ago I traded futures live for a very short time (after sim trading then for about 1 year) and didn't like the fact that my win/loss ratio ended up on the loss side, meaning I was not profitable. However I had strict risk control. I have done long-term investing for 25 years. I have now started with live trading in options and recently started practicing my futures trading again in a sim account. I would like to move to live trading of the TF future in the not-too-distant future.
I am currently trading mostly put credit-spreads in options and am using a couple of subscription services for picks, but so far have not been very happy with the results I'm getting with these paid-for picks. I would prefer eventually to rely on myself for the instruments I use to place the credit spread on.
I am thoroughly trained in technical analysis and understand chart-reading. I am retired and have the time to trade during the day. I have subscribed to a couple of mentorships in the past, and have had a lot of trading education. I've been extremely cautious about going live, since I don't have the confidence I need to trust my decisions. Perhaps this forum will help me make a breakthrough.
I've been trading for about ten years, but never full time. I've had good and bad moments, but, looking back, it seems to me that I could build a much better approach.
My goal is to develop an automated, hopefully profitable, trading system so I can live from that, no longer depend on a full time job and become free(r) to choose how to live my life.
The forum seems to be a great learning environment, I have already learned a lot, hope I can be of some help too. Thanks a lot Mike.
