Hello all, my name is Brian, I live in Humboldt California, I'm 29 years old, I love to travel and that's the main reason I'm here. I was always curious about trading on the markets but never actually did it. About a month ago, I was at the community pool and was talking to another swimmer, he reccomended me a book called Live on the Margin. It's a fun book about some guys who trade high volatility futures as a means of obtaining travel funds while travelling. I'm about a quarter through the book and it's to the point were I want to familiarize myself with the mechanics of trading before I keep reading.
Essentiall, I'm going to start with this tactic as I want to test these opportunities on my next adventure. Thanks to anyone who helps me with my goals.
A little about me and why I am here. My real name is Rich and from Michigan. I am 45 years old and retired in January of 2014. However after I found out I was 6 months short of full medical benefits I was lucky enough to pick up another career in January as well. My plans were to retire and Day Trade Full Time but that changed when I received the news. I had good success in trading the E-mini Futures back in the 90's but Divorce forced me to stop, cash out and pay obligations. When I retired this year I figured it would be time to pick up where I left off years ago and boy I was shocked on how that market changed. (Glad I didnt plan on doing this full time so fast). I got started in Feb of 2014 and had great success through Spring and Summer. However, when Sept rolled in, my trading account rolled out. I have struggled Sept, Oct, Nov. December I have put forth a plan, talking to other traders, watching hours of videos and learning the charting tools in and out. I realized that my thought of being a full time trader was a little premature but I think if I keep with it, surround myself with successful traders and learn as much as I can I believe I can still full fill that dream in the next 3 years. Which brings me here!!!!
Hopefully I can meet some good people on here an learn from them.
Hi Everyone,
I am an industrial engineer in the oil and gas industry by day, and I am into trading at night.
Traded stocks for many years. More recently focusing on futures and forex. I was determined to not wind up one of these traders who blew up their account a couple of times before reaching success or giving up. So I spent years in the paper trading world doing analysis and testing algorithms before going live. I had a couple of false starts as I was ramping up my live trading, but controlled the losses to only a few percent before realizing the errors in the algorithms. Live trading has now been ramping up smoothly over the past few months. I do automated trading with NinjaTrader and Interactive Brokers, with a dose of discretion for activating the algorithms.
Trading can be a lonely endeavor, so I'm joining the community to share experience and knowledge with other others.
Thanks for the great site, Big Mike.
I'm new to all this, but I've read a ton of books and gotten information from many websites. I'm about to start running some replays of the ES on Ninja to see how I get on, then I'll dip my toe in during 2015 - a new start. Hope to learn much from this forum.
Hello everyone... new to the forum and mostly to fill some time while waiting for a setup. Probably will post some of my entries for daytrades (either ES, FDAX or some interesting forex pair that I have at the moment) or join discussion whatever the topic might be.

Hi,
I am based in India, am a doctor. Have started technical analysis and trading futures after I lost big money in the 2008 crash and later on also.
I mainly use the Elliott Wave analysis for my trades. Most trades are position trades.
thanks.
