Mike thanks for the site and to everyone who contributes here.
Stumbled onto this while looking around at easylanguage stuff and finally signed up. There is a lot offered for NT but searching around for EL took me here so . . . Thanks for a nice site.
I have some experience trading stocks, and a lot of experience in losing money, but as of a few weeks ago I have been looking into day trading futures. I feel that day trading provides a lot more control over my investments and that keeping my money in the market for brief periods as opposed to the buy and hold philosophy of yester year will produce better results. I am aware of the risks associated with day trading and trading with margin, but I would rather take a loss over the course of a minute and know where I am at, than sit on a stock for 2 years to just take a loss when I had hoped for a gain. I thought I knew about finance and its markets, but I have learned more over the past 2 weeks than my previous 5 years of fooling around. My eyes have really been opened to how many people no almost nothing about this stuff, including myself and that there is a whole new financial based world for me to explore. I am fortunate enough to have a mentor in real life who trades for a living as a guide and he sent me here, and I am glad he did! Basically what I have learned thus far is, the trend is your friend, stick to your rules (like for real though) and find what works for me. I am anxious to continue learning from this forum and I hope to also contribute to it as I get my feet wet.
I joined a couple of days ago and have found the site to be both useful and active. There is a lot of shared wisdom here, I hope to both learn some and contribute some of that wisdom. Thanks.
Been at this one year, am working on finding / making Ninja indicators that work.
male , middle aged, visual learner ie like charts but Support and resistance numbers are never to be neglected.
Not making a living yet to be honest.
The isolation makes this type of site really welcome to me.
in spite of the fact typing is a nuisance to me.
