New to this forum. I currently have all of my savings sitting in a couch-potato model portfolio and have always felt that I could be earning more. Trying to dip my toes in futures trading for extra profits and potentially as a full time career if im capable of being a day trader.
Regards,
Jav

About me: I am 31 and recently started putting in serious time and effort to my journey to becoming a consistent trader about 3 or 4 months ago. Before this I worked in operations and sales for finance and insurance for some of the biggest banking companies in the world. I also did some swing and positional trading in equities with pretty good success for a few years (using price action and trends).
I am obviously in the beginning stages of my trading endeavor and gone through all the hours and hours of reading and sim trading many strategies and dollars on books and pdfs.
Right now I feel comfortable with and am sim trading with price action trading. I've read (tried to as best I can) Brooks, Volman's 5 minute price action and I watch MACK daily on youtube. I've had relatively decent success sim-trading singles on the ES for the past few weeks. I'd like to continue sim trading for a few more months consistently before I go live.
If any others would like to share their experience or even chat on a recurring basis, I would really enjoy that.
This journey can be a lonely one (esp for me). I don't have any friends or family that can relate to it and it would be nice to have some people give their feedback and share their journey and inspirations as well. I am always positive and love reading and learning everyday. So anyone who shares these same interests, please don't be afraid to reach out and chat.
Hi,
I am 44 and been have been trading options for about 6 years and started trading futures about 2 years ago. I have a full time corporate job where I have been for 20 years. I live in a suburb of Denver, CO with my wife and 4 daughters.
My goal is to build a consistent trading business and grow my accounts while I am still working full time. I have had limited success, but feel there is a gap between where I am and the potential. Eventually I would like to trade full time, I thoroughly enjoy the process of learning and trading.
My trading style in my IRA is to sell premium on ETFs based on market direction (selling puts, credit spreads, covered calls). For futures, I trade mostly the pre-market and first hour using price action (went through Al Brooks' course). Like many, I have spent a lot of time and money trying to find a system that I am comfortable with and fits with my personality. I have settled on pure price action as I think it fits me best, but I am struggling with consistency.
I hope to be able to contribute to this community and learn from those of you that have traveled this journey before me. This is the first time I have ever joined a forum, so be patient with me .
New to trading es minis. I plan to retire in 2 years and want to actively trade during retirement just to make money and pass it on to my kids. Plus, trading is definitely stimulating. It will give me a reason to get up in the morning. I am looking to listen/read and learn
First I would like to say thank you to the creator of this website. It looks to be a community that I can stand behind and learn from.
About myself. Well I have never actually traded but have been fascinated by the markets and the idea of day trading. It is something that I have researched on again and off again for a couple of years now. Believe it or not I actually found this website when I was doing my research on the DayTradingAcademy. Having a background in invetigations and security I question everything and try to get as much information as possible. In doing my research on DTA I located this website and have since been hungry for more knowledge that many of the members on here seem to possess.
I look forward to learning more about day trading and the futures markets.
