Hi everyone,
Usually, I'm not good at introducing myself to others, so please accept my apology if I made a bad introduction. This is Robot and I am a day trader for more than 20 years, and still surviving. I have a nice journey with lots of different experiments in trading stox, futures, options and currencies. Recently, I got more interested in automating my trading activities and I do believe that this is the future of trading. Working on Metastock, Tradestation and Multicharts with different ideas in this regard, I like "importing" an idea from one platform and implementing it in the other one to have a better integration of platform strength. I hope while joining this blog to get a benefit from sharing ideas with other members, specially in the automating field.
Best wishes and nice to join you guys.
Regards,
Robot.
Hi Bill,
Why you don't keep practicing on a demo (paper) account for exit strategy? Do you know how many hours a player keep practicing before he start his match? Iceberg theory dear!!
Don't rush throwing real money till you have confidence that you are fit for the game.
Good luck
Hello everybody,
i am a beginner in trading futures from germany. So far i was trading cfds and stocks from time to time, some gains
more losses ....
Together with this great and helpful community i hopefully will start better in trading futures ..
thanks and good trades to all
Pretty thankful for stumbling onto the community here. Been in and out of the Forex markets for years. At this point it was time to start taking trading like a business seriously so I am in the process of acquiring platform software that isn't broker specific.
That led me to ninja trader after having a horrible experience with e-signal. Only thing I couldn't find was the indicators pre-builtin to the software. Luckily this community has them. Thank GOD! Because the forum seems so helpful and I believe in supporting good things and people I signed up.
I look forward to getting involved in the community and getting to learn and contribute.
Like anything in life, trading isn't about the destination, it's about the journey.
Still new to trading. Mostly Oil futures for now just to get a handle on everything and practice some strategies a friend gave me. Works pretty well although I seem to get hit with big losses every once in a while. Only paper trading though for the last year. Only using IB which is pretty good except for the charts which are pretty bad. Tried Multicharts a bit but not religiously. Still lots to learn. Using supply and demand zones which work pretty well. Have to be more disciplined about using only strategies and stops. Would like to do this full time in the near future. Would start out with 15k and try to double it before I start seriously.
Lots to learn. Still need to spend more time on this forum as well.
Hello, I signed up today at the suggestion of a fellow trader that I met a few weeks ago. I've been flying solo as a futures (emini NQ) trader on and off for 17 years. Like many who enter the game of futures trading, I stared off in NYC where I had a successful career as a photographer and did not need to rely on trading for a living. Which was just as well! A bleak living it would have been! After plonking down $6K for a two day "course" in day trading futures, I opened a $10K account, set up some eSignal charts and was all set to have money raining down upon me. Then a funny thing happened..........3 weeks later my $10K account was $4K. How could that happen? The guy who sold me the course said all I had to do was follow his plan. So, back to the drawing board. Many more courses, software, switched to day trading stocks, stopped that and went back to day trading futures.
That was 7 years ago. I haven't blown my (small) account up this time. Why? Because I hardly ever actually trade! You can't blow up an account if you're not trading. So, I became addicted to Sim, so easy, like a video game, and a complete waste of time. The only way to learn is with real money on the line, there are no short cuts.
And so recently after yet another indulgence in a new "shiny object" software that I was sure would fix my addiction to Sim, it became very clear to me that the real issue is, and always has been, about avoiding taking responsibility for the state of mind I'm in when I open up the trading screen. So, that's where I am, I'm pretty sure I'm not alone, so I'm looking forward to hearing about how others overcame (or in the process of overcoming) this issue. Thank you for the room Mike!.
Hello everyone, my introduction will be very short because besides English is not my native language, I do not have much experience in futures trading, however I have taken a course that I am currently doing, and I hope in a short time to open one Real account with Ninjatrader and operate the Emini without burning my account
