I am glad to join the community. I have been actively trading for a year now ... started with stocks to options and now on to futures. I have had limited success with it all as there is just so much to learn. As well, I have struggled with the human emotion of doing the right actions at the right time ... I know I should enter at a specific spot but am afraid of getting burned or know I should exit but move it becomes a hope trade instead.
Since I am a programmer in my full time job, I realized that I should program around my human instincts and work towards a consistency and staying in the game. I have recently switched to ninjatrader and for the last couple of months started gathering the skills to create some strategies. Hopefully I will be able to help contribute back and share some indicator code back as I advance my knowledge.
Hi, This is X. I am telling my story as an introduction. I am a HS dropout and don't have a job. I started day trading since around Jan'16. I have consistently blow out money. I mostly trade with very high leverage. I am still a teen. Every time I fund my account I usually blow out within 2-3 days. It has sort of become a pattern. I fund my account and then bam. I do this almost every month. I was given the money by my father to learn trading. I am down almost $60k. Thanks for your time, hearing my story. I hope to become a profitable trader and learn from futures.io.
X, you've lost a ton of money in a very short time. In my opinion, I think you should go back to school and graduate. Try again when you're a little older. You're currently on the path to losing all of the money that your Dad gave to you. Sorry.
Thanks for your kind and honest advice that's I have been thinking. I have been closing all my brokerage accounts. And withdrawing leftover cash hardly a $1-2k. And starting to get back into studying. I just have to complete the senior year. I dropped out after completing junior. You but there is still a small hope within me to turn this thing around. Trading matter to me a lot and I give it my 100% full time.
I am university student. I am doing trading since last 5-6 months; mostly doing currency and stocks. I would want to learn more about Futures and hence in this group. I hope i would able to learn more about futures from this group.
Hi Everyone -
I am currently scalping the ZN (Ten Year Note future) NOBS - style.
I am looking for traders that would like to share live trading during the 2-3 hours after the open & analyse trades -
I will be taking the webinar soon. What all has been your experience with nobs? I watched the DOM for a second time today ever. Saw it really respond to the CPI and then it seemed to slow a lot. What hours do you scalp the ZN?
Hi Johny - thanks for the respons -- I learned a lot from John - his webinar is very informative and entertaining. I have attended twice (also Eurex)
It takes many hours of study to get some grip. There are several threads on the subject. My only negative feeling is he does not really make money during the webinars - takes quite a few losers and scratches - which he blames on being in the webinar. For the rest - excellent if you can cope with the ZN - it can be extremely boring at times ;-)
I trade from half hour before the open for 2-3 hours.
Scary to here this story. It is good you have the courage to share and willingness to heed direction. As I beginner myself, I wonder what you attribute your losses to. Did you have a plan or did you just enter on whims, for instance?
