I started trading years back just buying stocks and wishing they would go up. I then discovered options and futures and obviously blew up much more than I had saved in very little time.
After spending 1000's of hours reading, analyzing and testing, I have found that PriceAction trading suits me best. I like most to trade ES and Dax futures. Although consistently profitable, I do still have a day job besides trading but the plan is to build enough of a buffer to focus full time on trading and live comfortably.
Thanks to Big Mike for hosting such a great forum.
I'm searching on info on algo trading with NinjaTrader and TradeStation, that is how I found this forum. I will select one of them but I am having trouble making up my mind. I will be trading the Emini ES exclusively using algos. I'm an experienced programmer so no problem using new programming languages.
The primary areas that will influence my decision is the speed and quality of data feeds, breath of information available in the data feed, speed and quality of execution.
Have been an investor since 1998, now I will move some of my funds into short term trading activities.
I’ve been lurking for awhile but figured it’s about time I get more active here.
First off, huge thanks to Big Mike for this forum and the webinars!
I’ve been trading for about 1.5-2 years. Focusing mostly on fixed income and ES futures this year. I’ve also been dabbling in the Russell recently to get acquainted with a thinner market.
I have a day job running a boutique software development consultancy but work from home so am able to trade throughout the day as well. I’m most active around the open though since that’s when I’m able to focus on just trading.
I live in Brooklyn, NY with my fiancé and basset hound. I’m originally from a small town in Alabama. I travel a lot for work and fun. Enjoy expensive coffee and cheap whiskey.
I have been investing in stocks for almost two years now. I met a forex trader who wanted to help me make money faster than with stocks through his forex signals. I was making money but then lost all the profit and then some due to not having a stop loss in the trade. This left me upset and with a desire to be part of a trading community with the goal in mind to help develop the skills of traders such as myself. I also would like to learn how to trade some financial instruments on a short term basis. I'm somewhat successful trading stocks on a long term basis but would like to have the benefit of profitting on a short term basis.
It is my hope that this forum can help me achieve the two stated goals of being part of a trading community that I can feel comfortable with and to learn to trade financial instrument(s) on a short term basis.
Hello everyone here in the Futures.io family. I'm new to trading and came across your site through Google. Now that I'm a member, I find that most of my searches for information lead me right back to here. This tells me that this forum has some of the most knowledgeable and involved members around. Again I thank you all for sharing great information and I hope as I grow stronger in this subject matter I'll be able to give back what's being given to me. Again Thank you all.
Hello guys, well I'm new here. I would really like to get into futures trading and I'm currently doing my homework trying to find a decent broker, platform and data feed which present itself both as difficult and unsatisfactory. But with the help of this forum I'll likely find answers to some of my questions.
Joined this site some while ago. Every now and then I return to have a quick look. I only joined to have a poke around and see what people are saying. But be truthful I am very surprised how different this community is to other blogs out there. It is quite refreshing…
I am an amateur trader. Initially started on the LSE with very poor results. The LSE is one market I cannot get my head around. So I moved to the Forex. I have tried numerous techniques with charts and an array of indicators. The whole time not making money but also not losing money. It seems my entry points are not the best. I appear to enter a trade at the wrong time, but I am able to exit a trade when the market goes against me so I don’t end up losing my trading capital.
So I've started looking at order flow. I’ve downloaded some of the Jigsaw tools, watch there webinars which in turn brought me to this site. So the plan is to learn how to use order flow which will then help me with entry points. Watch this space?
I do hope in the very near future I can give something back...
