I'm about to begin my second and last year of my masters in finance. Since I've got a single class this upcoming semester, I've decided learn more about actual trading, algos, get better at coding and all the possible ways to build a strategy.
Look forward to learn more!

Hi, no worries, I have been six years trading till I have become fairly consistent by a deep understanding in how the market works, looking closely to MP and Vwap. Keep on the good work.
Hey folks! I’m new to futures. Glad to have found this forum! I like futures because of the tax treatment, no PTD rule, great liquidity and most of all the simplicity and discipline of focusing on a small number of instruments (ES, NQ) rather than hundreds of stocks and ETF’s. I’ve been watching ES and NQ for months and from what I’ve read here and on reddit the DOM is going to be my strategy of choice.
Right now I’m a bit overwhelmed with brokerage, data feed, trading tools and platform choices. I am definitely a minimalist when it comes to trading so keeping it simple is one priority. I know I can go straight to the FCM for data but I like the idea of using a broker since I’m new and will likely need some guidance/customer service plus, I believe that given the volume I’ll be trading (maybe 10 contracts per day) the commissions will be cheaper. Speaking of commissions, TD Ameritrade is $7 per round trip, that’s bonkers!!
I’m leaning towards optimus or tradovate for brokerage/data feed and jigsaw as my main trading tool. It seems that both of those IB’s have great free platforms so I can start with one of them before springing for Jigsaw. I use TOS for swing trading and options so I’ll likely use it for big picture charting when needed.
I have little trading experience and would like to learn more about futures. Unfortunately, I am not yet a successful trader at the moment. I hope for better times.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of this group.
