G'day all from Victoria, Australia. My name is Trevor and I'm a retired IT project manager, originally from England, emigrated to Oz in 1986.
I've been trading for over 10 years and have traded every market, method, platform under the sun including stocks, options, futures, forex and CFDs. Sometimes successfully. Always had a big focus on risk control so have never lost hugely but my equity curve over that time is not too impressive.
I realised early on that I'm the weakest link in the chain due to my psychology and have always focused on mechanical trading methods, ideally automated but spent a huge of time trying to build stuff that worked (usually it didn't). I made all the usual mistakes of over optimizing and curve fitting.
In the last 18 months or so I have found success in algo trading futures, mainly eminis but also gold, crude and soybeans. Mostly my success has been with bought or leased strategies from a couple of reputable vendors/traders. The trick is to blend the strategy mix into a portfolio that reduces drawdowns and can handle a variety of market conditions, an art that I am still learning. I'm researching and generating my own strategies now using a couple of commercial frameworks.
My preferred platform and datafeed is Tradestation, but I trade with Interactive Brokers and send the TS signals to IB using NinjaTrader as a bridge. I've also used Multicharts and Ninja to run strategies but had a lot of technical and datafeed problems., especially MC recently. Hoping to get help from this community with some of these issues.
Hello, Guilherme from Brazil. I'm still learning ninjatrader scripts and found some threads here in Futures.io very useful to my learning. Hope to help others soon.
Hello Traders
I have been around 528 days on here but first time posting.
I often post on LINKEDIN and here is the link for todays post:

FIB based chart that says it all. Picture is worth a MILLION words at times.
If prices move under Jan 6th low, we need revisit n reuse our thinking caps.
FIB Projections are Mathematical and Probable targets ... nothing less or nothing more. Yes FIB CLUSTERS have more power then just one.
Think RISK and FOLLOW YOUR TRADE RULES !!!! Lots $$$$ either way

Think risk always. Scale in and Scale out of positions based on personal Risk tolerance and appetite. Never EVER Risk any money in markets that you cannot afford to lose without losing your MIND, Sleep or your Lifestyle.

PS: Educational purposes only. Rule based "TREND DOTS ALGO" on PRICE CHARTS optimised for Volatility, has built in STOPS. Not a recommendation to buy or sell ever. Talk first to your advisor.
Only a few months in to trading futures but this website keeps popping up on searches.
Used IB and TDA for trading at first, switched to Ninja for better margins, and officially hate the interface, so looking for something better.
VERY interested in algo trading. Haven't gotten into it yet.
Mostly trade e-minis and micro e-minis. Lost more than I care to admit this past week when the market dropped considerably. Couldn't get back to my PC in time to make sure my daily positions and and what not on ninja were being hit. 100% my fault, but figured i'd come here to see about other people's experience with other FCM's platforms.
Thanks for over 12 years contributing in the field, altho I only know this forum for two years. And am looking forward to keep learning as time passes. Glad to join!

Hello all, while I'm not new here on the site, I've been a lurker for a while, and I started a journal today. I've been trading stocks off and on for over a decade, but never really buckled down to do it on a constant basis. Every time in the past that I tried to do that, I always had life get in the way. Now it seems that the stars are aligned for me to try trading again.
, I'm the complete opposite as you. I hate the User interfaces that I have tried and finally (last week) decided on NinjaTrader. I bought the life time license and plan on upgrading to the multibroker in February.
